Owlscoop’s John DiCarlo Previews Temple Football vs. Memphis
Temple Football enters week 5 with a 2-2 record. Considering the rebuilding nature that this season was supposed to be, a 2-2 record with a close loss to Rutgers is arguably above where most Temple fans thought the team would be at this time. Stan Drayton seems to have the program headed in the right direction.
Temple is fresh off a 28-0 victory against lowly UMass. It was the Owls first shutout since 2016. The Owls defense has given up just 2 touchdowns in their last 14 quarters, and they’ve completely shutout their opponents in their last 9 quarters.
You also cant ignore the offense and a big part of it is true freshmen EJ Warner. Warner had arguably his worst game of his young career, throwing for 173 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 bad interceptions. Warner has 561 yards with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. His best pass was a long bomb for a touchdown to Adonicas Sanders
