Shaq Destroys Ben Simmons
Thoughts and prayers out to Ben Simmons. A few days after former MVP Shaquille O’Neal took a subtle shot at Ben Simmons while praising Joel Embiid, Shaq unloaded on his LSU brethren. While on the set of NBA on TNT Shaq did NOT hold back:
“Difference between (Embiid) and his soft partner is, (Embiid) can take criticism without being a crybaby and he still wants to play,” O’Neal said. “Me and Charles, we’ve been on (Embiid) and we stay on him. We told him to his face what he needs to do. He didn’t cry, he didn’t say ‘I want to get traded’, he didn’t complain about mistreatment. And that’s the difference. That’s why I like and respect him. The other guy, I don’t respect him… Great players get criticized. But the great players also step up to the criticism and perform. So this other guy, I don’t respect him. I would get rid of him.”

For Shaq this is a little personal. The most prominent basketball players from LSU in the last 30 years are Shaq, and Ben Simmons. So for Shaq to see an LSU Tiger turtle up the way that Ben Simmons has must be frustrating. Maybe this will silence the national narrative that it was the Sixers fans who pushed Simmons out.
