Sixers Look to Sweep Season Series vs the Bulls
By Dylan MacKinnon
The Sixers Look to Sweep the season series vs the Bulls tonight. It will be the fourth time they face Chicago. They come into tonight winning their last 10 vs the Bulls. In their last meeting, Joel Embiid dropped a 40ps double-double. Before that, he had 30pts and 16rebounds, while hitting 4 of 5 from deep. In total, they have outscored the Bulls by 25 pts in the 3 games.
The Sixers will also be looking to bounce back after an ugly loss in Miami on Saturday. They lost 99-82, but frankly, the deficit should have been greater. No one on this outside Maxey could make a shot. Their 3pt shooting was 17.1%, and from the field, they were just 34.1%. But that comes with two caveats. One they were without James Harden. Two, they were playing in their second city in two nights. Not to make excuses, but the game felt like a scheduled loss even before it was reported Harden wouldn’t play.
With Harden in the lineup, albeit only 4 games, the Sixers remain undefeated. They have outscored their opponents by 68 pts in those 4 games. Embiid, Harden, and Maxey each scored at least 20 in every game.
The two teams will be battling for seeding. As of now, the Sixers are the 2 seed, and the Bulls are the 4th. But only a .5 a game separates them, meaning whoever wins will end the night the higher seed. The Bucks are between them and tied with the Sixers. We are in the final stretch of the regular season and every game counts. So this game may very well have implications for the playoffs.
