Embiid Expected To Miss At Least 10 Days
Shams Charania must be living in the Sixers training facility. Hours after tweetingtweeting that the Boston Celtics were interested in trading for Ben Simmons, the Athletic’s NBA insider tweeted that Joel Embiid has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol. Embiid joins Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Isaiah Joe. Embiid can only come back when he returns 2 negative Covid tests.
Embiid is expected to miss at least 10 days, unless he returns two negative COVID-19 results in 24 hours moving forward, sources said. https://t.co/iYfn5vyB6m

The Sixers are just the latest professional team dealing with a Covid outbreak. This isn’t to say that Embiid has even tested positive. He could’ve simply been in close contact with someone who did. Honestly it doesn’t even matter. If the big man can’t return 2 negative tests then he will remain out for a minimum of 10 days.
The short handed Sixers have been able to ascend to the top of the Eastern Conference without the likes of Harris, Green, Thybulle, Joe, and of course Ben Simmons. But Embiid is the focal point. Let’s hope for negative tests and a speedy recovery.
