See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever? Jen Scordo shares a few recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that includes a college football mascot hit on Dua Lipa and a woman refuses to go to a chain restaurant on a date… Here are her stories from today.

This past weekend during “College GameDay,” the Oregon Ducks mascot attempted to catch the eye of Dua Lipa.  He took a picture of himself holding a sign that said, “Dua Lipa, can we talk?” He shared it on Twitter and it was met with overwhelming support for the duck.  Most comments were trying to persuade Dua Lipa to give the duck a shot.  A quick scroll through his Twitter account and you’ll see the mascot has quite a sense of humor.

A nameless woman is getting roasted on social media after video of her on a first date has gone viral.  Her date can be seen trying to open her car door for her, she rolls down the window and refuses to get out of the car because they are at a chain restaurant – The Cheesecake Factory.  She can be heard saying, “Who takes someone who looks like this to a chain restaurant?” They chat about it for a few minutes in the car and he agrees to just take her home.  She recorded the video on her own, but it was posted on Tik Tok from a different person.  The Cheesecake Factory is amazing and this guy clearly dodged a bullet.

All The Celebrities Cheering For The Phillies At Citizens Bank Park

It's Red October baby! Here are all the celebrities cheering for the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. It’s so wild to think it’s been 15 years since the Phillies won the World Series back in 2008. Philly is such a special town and there are so many celebs who want to see the Phillies win another World Series this season!

Red October was in full swing. The 2008 World Series was the 104th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies and the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays; and the Phillies won (obviously), four games to one. The 2008 World Series is notable because it is the only World Series to involve a mid-game postponement and resumption (two days later). I remember watching it at the Irish Pub and they had to call the game because it was raining so bad.

Charlie Manuel was the manager for the Phillies and famous baseball manager Joe Maddon was in charge of the Rays. Fun Fact, Joe Maddon is from Hazelton, PA (which is in NEPA) and has done a lot for his hometown community. The dates of the 2008 World Series were October 22-29. Then remember the parade was on Halloween. I was working as a receptionist at the time at a company called Sparks and EVERYONE took off, but I couldn’t. I’ll never forget being so upset that I wasn’t able to go to the parade. Everyone had the best time and I was answering the phones in Northeast Philly saying “Hello Sparks.” Lol!

Obviously, the parade was epic and isn’t it so great how the two parades we had, there were two moments that live on forever? First Chase Utley with the WORLD BLEEPING CHAMPIONS and then obviously Jason Kelce’s speech at the Eagles Parade in 2018. Praying that we have another championship parade soon. We need it.

Jordan Davis

Eagles defensive tackle, Jordan Davis, went to the University of Georgia, but now that he's in Philly, he wanted to see what Red October at Citizens Bank Park is all about. Needs to say, he's impressed. Fletcher Cox has a great video of his face in shock when the fans started doing the EAGLES chant.

Fletcher Cox

Fletch is basically a resident Philadephian at this point. He's been with the Eagles for over a decade, but unfortunately he hasn't really gotten to see Red October because the Phillies weren't good. His first taste was obviously when they made it last year and he said, let's do it again.

Fletcher Was Even in the Lockeroom

Fletcher was so excited that he even went in the locker-room after the Phillies one to celebrate. Ha. He and Nick Castellanos hugged for a while, so they clearly must be friends in real life. Fletcher remembers all those celebrations for the Eagles. Hopefully we'll get more from the Birds this season!

Miles Teller

Miles is a HUGE Phillies fan. He threw out the first pitch, went to a bunch of World Series games last year and was in Philly last week when the Phillies beat the Marlins. He didn't make it to Philly last night, but was tweeting up a storm while he was watching the game. We have a feeling we'll see him in Philly soon.

Tyrese Maxey

Tyrese is still one of the newest members of the Sixers, but he's made Philly fall in love with him.  First for his hard play on the basketball court and second for his infectious personality off the court. It's awesome that he came to cheer on the Phillies.

Joel Embiid

Sixers star and NBA MVP Joel Embiid showed up at Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Phillies. I love when the other Philly athletes show up to support each other. Philly is such a special city, it doesn't happen in other cities like it does here.

Lil Dicky

Lil Dicky is from Cheltenham and has a super successful TV show out called Dave, not to mention a pretty successful rap career. He threw out the first pitch this summer and was posting about watching the Phillies on his Instagram. We have a feeling we'll see him at CBP soon.

Jen Scordo was born and raised just outside of Atlanta, Georgia but she has called the Northeast her home for over 20 years. A diehard 5 for 5 fan, she always knew that radio was where she wanted to be and talking sports in Philadelphia is a dream come true as Producer of The Best Show Ever? on 97.5 The Fanatic. She loves to talk and write about Philly sports including the Eagles, the Sixers, the Flyers, the Phillies and the Union.
