What’s Brewing With Jen Includes Soup And Amputations
Jason Kelce #62 of the Philadelphia Eagles
See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever? Jen Scordo shares a few recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that includes amputations after an NFL playoff game and Jason Kelce gets the Chucky Soup treatment… Here are her stories from today.
Football Fans Having To Get Amputations After Playoff Game
Remember back in January when the Chiefs played the Dolphins in Kansas City in the playoffs? Remember the temperatures for that outdoor game were at -4 degrees with a windchill of -20 degrees? I do. I remember thinking to myself, if I had tickets to that game, I would sell them. I don’t care that it’s a playoff game, I don’t want to die from cold weather. Well, to nobody’s surprise, some of those fans might need amputations. A doctor in the Kansas City area says that close to 70% of the patients who suffered from frostbite after the game are being advised to get amputations. Also, remember that the NFL said that there is no temperature too low to play a game.
Let that sink in.

Jason Kelce Gets The Chunky Soup Treatment
We’re still crying about Jason Kelce retiring, however and to nobody’s surprise, he’s getting his on can of soup. Chunky Soup of course! His picture and autograph will don a can of Chunky Soup for a limited edition “Legend Edition” soup can. Campbell’s (a local company based in Camden) is giving away 620 cans, a nice nod to Kelce’s #62. Campbell is also donating $62,000 to Kelce’s charity – the (Be)Philly Foundation, which helps students in the Philadelphia public school system. And that’s wonderful! 5 Affordable Running Backs The Eagles Might Target in Free Agency
There has been a lot of push for the Eagles to go after one of the free agent running backs. Rumors have swirled that there is mutual interest between them and Saquon Barkley. To be fair, Saquon running behind the Eagles O-Line would be a thing of beauty. But that has never been the Eagles way. They don’t spend big on Running backs.
That has been a trend for most teams. We don’t see teams handing out big contracts to RBs very much anymore. The Giants aren’t even willing to pay Barkley. It’s why he is available in the first place. The RB position has never been devalued as much as it is right now.
It is why they let Miles Sanders walk last off-season. They let Sanders leave for the Panthers, despite coming off the best season of his career. They were proven right. He had perhaps the worst year of his career in Carolina. In fairness to him, he was running behind the worst O-Line in the league and had no help on offense. But we saw that the Eagles success on the ground had far more to do with the O-Line, as opposed to who was carrying the ball.
They find themselves potentially in need of a RB again. Just don’t expect it to be a Saquon Barkley or Josh Jacobs. Even with RB being devalued, those guys while still be out of the range the eagles would pay a RB. But the RB market being so deep, may help them get another guy cheap.
On top of Barkley and Jacobs, guys like Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry, and Tony Pollard are also free agents. With those guys outs there, some talented RB is going to be available for cheap. That is where the Eagles can sweep in.
