Philadelphia Eagles Move Up To Pick 66 Thanks To Jonathan Gannon
The Philadelphia Eagles move up in the 3rd round of the draft and they gave up nothing to do it. (Well, some would argue they gave up the guy who cost the team a Lombardi trophy but thats another post for another time.) The NFL investigated a complaint made by the Eagles over the Arizona Cardinals hiring of then Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. The Eagles felt like the Cardinals tampered and it turns out the NFL agreed.
The league announced that the two teams would swap third round picks. So the Eagles now move from pick 94 to pick 66. All because the Cardinals couldn’t WAIT to hire the mastermind of the “leave a guy wide open to walk into the endzone” defense. (Kidding JG. I actually liked your defense apart from the final game.)
Moving up 28 spots in the draft is no small feat. The Eagles will draft at 62 in the second round and then 4 picks later they’ll now be on the clock again. The Eagles could use one of these selections to possibly move down in the draft and recoup some assets because they do not have another pick until round 7. But if they use both of these picks at where they are slated then it could be a very quiet Saturday at Novacare.
Either way, we will keep you updated on all the moves the Eagles make to bolster the roster for the 2023 season.

Day 2: Best Players Available For The Eagles In The NFL Draft
What a Thursday night for the Eagles! Howie Roseman had a near flawless draft as he took who many think is the best player in the draft, Jalen Carter. Roseman was able to trade up 1 pick, giving up a 4th rounder for next season, to acquire the Georgia Bulldog. But Howie wasnt done. The Eagles also owned the #30 pick in the draft, their own, and Howie grabbed ANOTHER Georgia Bulldog as edge rusher Nolan Smith fell to them.
So how will Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office follow up their incredible first round? The Eagles will have two picks on Friday. Their first will come with the 62nd overall pick in round 2. Their next pick will be just a few picks later when they draft at 66 after an NFL investigation deemed that the Arizona Cardinals tampered in the hiring of Jonathan Gannon.
So here are some players that the Eagles could target Friday night. It’s in no particular order and the rankings listed are from NFL.com and ESPN.
