Question of The Day- Are you Disappointed in the Phillies?
Every day on “The Best Show Ever?” we ask the Question of the Day. And today that question was, “Are you still disappointed that the Phillies lost 3 straight to close the year, or happy they tried hard?”
The great Phillies run ended in utter heartbreak. After the joy of them winning game 3 7-0, they lost the next 3. First, they became just the second team in MLB history to get no-hit in the World Series. Next, they faced Verlander and wasted chance after chance with runners in scoring position. And then they only managed 1 run on Saturday night in an elimination game. The bats went cold, and the run ended.
It was a great run before those last 3 games. Starting with the comeback in the 9th against the Cardinals. Then they took 3 of 4 from the Braves, who many thought were the best team in baseball over the last 4 months of the season. And in that series, we got the Rhys Hoskins bat spike. That continued with a great series vs the Padres which culminated in one of the biggest hits in Phillies history with Bryce harper hitting a go-ahead 2-run shot to send them to the World Series.
The four hosts of “The Best Show Ever?” all said they are disappointed. As great and fun as it was, the way it ended sucked. And there is never a guarantee you can get back there. The 93 Phillies never recaptured that magic.
But we wanted to know what all of you thought. Are you more upset about how the run ended, or happy about what we got for the last month? So we asked if you are disappointed in the Phillies, despite the great run.
Here were some of the answers we got on Twitter…
No they will be back.. and now most free agents want to come to Philly and might take less to join the team. So This time we will have better players and position ourselves better for the post season next year

No, I'm super happy and proud to be Philadelphian residing in LA just because of what they accomplished

Yes, I'm damn disappointed. I am more frustrated because they did not play the kind of ball they are capable of playing. Where were the bats & the defense the last 3 games. No consistency. And, Wheeler should have stayed in. I'm not sure what he was being saved for ...

Houston top to bottom is the better team, they always were. But, if you have a 2-1 lead with 2 home games on deck, the expectations shift. Yes I’m disappointed
