The great Phillies run ended in utter heartbreak. After the joy of them winning game 3 7-0, they lost the next 3. First, they became just the second team in MLB history to get no-hit in the World Series. Next, they faced Verlander and wasted chance after chance with runners in scoring position. And then they only managed 1 run on Saturday night in an elimination game. The bats went cold, and the run ended.
It was a great run before those last 3 games. Starting with the comeback in the 9th against the Cardinals. Then they took 3 of 4 from the Braves, who many thought were the best team in baseball over the last 4 months of the season. And in that series, we got the Rhys Hoskins bat spike. That continued with a great series vs the Padres which culminated in one of the biggest hits in Phillies history with Bryce harper hitting a go-ahead 2-run shot to send them to the World Series.
The four hosts of "The Best Show Ever?" all said they are disappointed. As great and fun as it was, the way it ended sucked. And there is never a guarantee you can get back there. The 93 Phillies never recaptured that magic.
But we wanted to know what all of you thought. Are you more upset about how the run ended, or happy about what we got for the last month? So we asked if you are disappointed in the Phillies, despite the great run.
