3 Members of 76ers Test Positive for Coronavirus
Three members of the Philadelphia 76ers have tested positive for the coronavirus, the team has revealed.
In a statement released late Thursday, the NBA team said the trio was quarantined after the test results were confirmed by a “private organization.”
Team management declined to say whether those infected by the virus are players or staff members.
“Pursuant to CDC guidelines, the individuals are in self-isolation and will be monitored closely by medical professionals,” the statement reads. “The health of our players, staff, fans and community is paramount, and we continue to be guided by medical experts at this time.”
The news came shortly after the Denver Nuggets also revealed a member of its organization is undergoing medical care after “experiencing symptoms consistent with the coronavirus.” Team officials didn’t disclose the person’s identity.
