Joel Embiid Leaves Game With Shoulder Injury
The Sixers did not have a very good night on Wednesday. Not only did they drop the game to the Cavaliers, they lost Joel Embiid to a shoulder injury.
Fouled late in the first quarter, Embiid was unable to make either free throw. He eventually ended up leaving and not returning.
NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Serena Winters notes that Embiid was seen wearing a sling after the matchup. Keith Pompey from the Inquirer adds that he’ll undergo an MRI on Thursday.
The team is also suffering without Norvel Pelle, who is fighting an upper respiratory illness, and Ben Simmons, who has been diagnosed with nerve impingement in his lower back.
