Eagles WR Devon Allen Dominates The New York City Grand Prix
Here is the part where I act like I knew what the “New York City Grand Prix” was before NFL writers alerted me to such an event. But if you are not a track aficionado like yours truly I will fill you in. The New York City Grand Prix is New York’s FASTEST track event (according to their website.) Its an official USATF (USA Track & Field) Event so it is a very respected event. Which makes what Eagles WR Devon Allen did all the more impressive.
The undrafted free agent took the New York City and posted a 12.84 second 110 meter hurdles. This was basically my reaction to that time
But apparently it is. Allen ran so fast that it is the THIRD FASTEST TIME EVER.
If the Eagles are looking for blazing speed they certainly found it. Allen played football at Oregon and played 3 years for the Ducks and his first season he was pretty good catching 41 balls for 684 yards. He then decided to focus more of his attention on track and field but at 27 he is ready to take on the NFL.
For the Eagles its a low risk, high reward move to bring him in. Hopefully it pans out.
