What’s Brewing With Jen Includes ‘American Idol’ Auditions And Horses On Highways
Wide receiver Blake Proehl #13 of the Minnesota Vikings
See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever? Jen Scordo shares a few recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that includes a former wide receiver who auditioned for ‘American Idol’ and a horse was on the loose in Philadelphia … Here are her stories from today.
Former Vikings Wide Receiver Auditions On ‘American Idol’
‘American Idol’ is still a thing, I guess. Former Vikings wide receiver Blake Proehl is looking to hop into a new career as a singer. Jordan Mailata… take note! Ryan Seacrest announced last weekend that Proehl would be heading to Hollywood. I’m assuming that he auditioned and didn’t make the actual show… is the show on yet? I know I’ve seen commercials for it… Anyway, Seacrest announced that Proehl is going to Hollywood on Twitter. Proehl signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and then spent the next few years on the practice squad or on injured reserve. He also released his first single, “Falling Into You” back in 2022.

A Horse Was On Loose On A Philadelphia Highway
I woke up early yesterday morning and turned on the news to see a horse running down 95.
Not the normal scene on 95 before morning rush hour. No word on how the horse got loose, but the poor thing was probably scared to death on 95… I know I’m usually scared for my life while driving on that particular highway. Angelo Palmer was travelling on 95 and whipped out his phone and was able to catch the horse running down the highway around 6am yesterday. Thankfully, the horse was eventually captured and taken away to safety near Port Richmond. The man who captured the horse said that somebody let the horse out, though that wasn’t confirmed. He was also wearing a “Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club” t-shirt…

Handing Out Grades For Every Sixers Player At The All-Star Break
The NBA All-Star break is upon us. Meaning the Sixers get some much-needed rest. The season kind of imploded after such a promising start. Joel Embiid is out for several weeks with a meniscus injury. Tobias Harris, Nico Batum, Robert Covington, and DeAnthony Melton have all missed time. And they are still waiting for Kyle Lowry to be able to officially join the team. The All-Star Break couldn’t come at a better time for them.
Before the Embiid injury, this season looked like it might be their best chance yet. Joel Embiid was playing the best basketball of his career. Tyrese Maxey blossomed into a Star. Nick Nurse had the team functioning like a well-oiled machine, with elite production on both ends of the floor.
But the Embiid injury, along with all the other issues, derailed it completely. They fell from the 3 seed to the 5 seed. They are now 3-9 in their last 12 games. But getting reinforcements at the trade deadline did help. Since Buddy Hield and Cam Payne joined the team, they are 2-2. That is despite them dealing with several other injuries and Nick Nurse having to play with a patchwork lineup.
The All-Star break is also a good time for us to review what we know about this team. Who has stepped up this season? Which players need to do better in the 2nd half? Are we under or overrating anyone on the roster? Can the guys currently on it keep them afloat until Embiid returns? So while the Sixers get their much-needed rest, apart from Tyrese Maxey who is in the All-Star Game, let’s hand out some grades to the Sixers players. From Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, down to the guys at the end of the Sixers bench.
Here is the grade for every Sixers player heading into the All-Star Break:
