What’s Brewing With Jen Includes Lots Of Mullets
Cody Eakin #21 of the Vegas Golden Knights
See what was brewing with Jen Scordo today. Every day on The Best Show Ever? Jen Scordo shares a few recent weird and interesting news stories. Today that includes a naked man was rescued from a boat in the Pacific Ocean and the Mullet Championship top 25 have been narrowed down… Here are her stories from today.
Naked Man Rescued In Pacific Ocean
An Australian man was rescued recently in the Pacific Ocean after not completing his attempt to row across the body of water. And somehow he lost all of his clothing in the process. Tom Robinson was recued last week about 60 miles west of Vanuatu’s Malakula Island, completely naked. Obviously he was badly sunburned and severely dehydrated and naked, which I’m sure didn’t help that sunburn. In all seriousness, it was a life or death situation and he’s lucky to be alive. He ran into some bad weather and rough seas while rowing across the ocean, thankfully he was able to activate his distress signal and was rescued within 24 hours. A cruise line was in the area and heard the distress signal and made their way to him and the crew were able to get him safely on board.

Obviously this is my favorite championship of the year. 25 men have been narrowed down to have the best mullets in the United States. And you can vote of your favorite! Some of the men have deemed themselves, Terry the Walmart Wolverine, The Carolina Shrimp Tail and Panhandle Justice, among other colorful titles. The men are judged on their fantastic flows, but also on how many donations they receive to Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors. Obviously you need to see all these fine mullets, so click the link above to cast your vote.

How The Phillies Have Hit Against Braves Game 3 Starter Bryce Elder
It took the Braves forever to announce their game 3 starter. But we finally have an answer. It will be second-year pitcher Bryce Elder. He will be making his first-ever post-season appearance in front of a raucous Phillies crowd, with Aaron Nola out there for the Phillies.
The problem with Bryce Elder, is the Phillies have barely seen him. He has pitched against the Phillies just twice. The first time, back in June, he pitched 7 scoreless innings. More recently, he gave up 4 runs over 3.2 innings. In those 2 starts his ERA against the Phillies is 3.38
And that is kind of the story of how Bryce Elder’s whole season went. In the first half, he was great. He had a 2.97 ERA over his first 18 starts. His second half was awful though. Over his last 13 starts, his ERA was 5.15. His BAA rose by .020 points in the second half, and his WHIP rose .21 points. And in his last 3 starts, he gave up 13 runs over 12.1 innings. He last pitched on September 26th.
Now he is set to make his first-ever postseason appearance. It is very likely they have a short leash on him, and he only gets to see each Phillies hitter once. But it didn’t take the Phillies long to get to him the last time they saw him. And chasing him early could put serious strain on the Braves bullpen for tomorrow.
Because he has just 2 starts against the Phillies, the Phillies hitters do not have many at-bats against him. In fact, none of the Phillies players have more than 5 plate appearances against him. And with one of those games being a 7-inning shutout, the numbers don’t look too good for a lot of them, in that small sample size. Still, it is worth looking at how the Phillies have hit against him in the past.
Here is the Phillies Lineup’s Stats Against Bryce Elder:
