Did Eagles’ A.J. Brown Talk Smack About Travis Kelce?
They say not to believe everything you hear or see. That was even true way before social media and the Internet exploded. That said, it goes without saying that you should really be careful what you believe these days. Take the incident with Travis Kelce having a confrontation with Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid during the Super Bowl. Plenty of people voiced their views on the incident on social media. One of those people appeared to be A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles. But, did Brown actually talk smack about Travis Kelce?
“If that was me I would’ve been kicked out of the league,” a social media account with Brown’s name posted Sunday evening (Feb. 11). This account had been around for quite a while and had a following, so many believed it.
If you click the link above, you’ll see that the tweet is no longer there. That’s because it was deactivated. Before it was taken down, that tweet garnered responses from a bevy of big names, including Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill who shared his support of the idea on X (formerly Twitter).
Eagles cornerback Darius Slay actually called out the fake account, saying, “Just talk to AJ. That wasn’t him…” Also, before being deactivated, the account posted a kind of apology. It seems whoever was running the account is just a big fan. The account owner shared, “This is a fake AJ brown page . I’m just a fan. I’m not trying to get him in trouble with what I say lol.” He also reportedly offered to give the account back to the receiver if he could get an autographed jersey. No word yet on if that deal happened, but as aforementioned, the fake account is down. It’s just another lesson in being very careful about what you believe online.
