Kobe Bryant, Bo Jackson, And More In Today’s Audio Vault
LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 19: Kobe Bryant #24 of the Los Angeles Lakers smiles in the fourth quarter during the game against the Chicago Bulls on November 19, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers won 108-93.
Ray Dunne was out today, so Connor Thomas filled in. Which meant the Audio Vault duties were passed onto Connor as well. What did he find in today’s Vault? Every day on the Mid-Day Show they pull out older audio relevant to the day. That may be famous birthdays, things that happened on this day in history, or stuff that is relevant to one of the current topics in Philly Sports. Today they celebrated Bo Jackson and Bill Walsh on his Birthdays, looked back at when Kobe Bryant announced he was retiring, and more.
And don’t worry, Andrew takes Connor to task for having the nerve to honor Bill Walsh during the week when the Eagles are about to play the 49ers. Connor also made the bold claim he could to the run-up the run-up-the-wall move in the outfield Bo Jackson used to do.
Here is the lineup from the Audio Vault today:
- On this day in 2015, Kobe Bryant Announced His Plans To Retire
- Happy Birthday Bill Walsh
- An Excerpt From The NFL Films’ Bill Walsh Documentary
- Happy Birthday Bo Jackson
- Some notable highlights from Bo Jackson

6 Numbers That Tell The Story Of The The Eagles Win Over the Bills
Well, they did it again. Was it pretty? No. Did the Eagles stress all of us out? Yes. For the second straight week, they went into halftime down 17-7. The offense was a mess in the first half. But they somehow found a way to win. Jalen Hurts and the offense turned it on in the second half, scoring 3 TDs, and a late 59-yard FG by Jake Elliott, to eventually force OT. Then after holding the Bills to an FG, Jalen Hurts walked it off with a rushing TD.
This team just finds ways to win. They have yet to play a single game you could say was pretty. But they keep winning anyway. There is something to be said for always stepping up at the end of the game to pull out the win. Would we all love it if they just made it easy on us for once? Sure. But it is hard to complain about 10-1, especially considering they have the toughest schedule of any team in the league to this point. You win ugly enough, and you just get called winners. And the Eagles are winners.
They improved to 10-1. It puts them at least 2 games ahead of every other team in the NFL and gives them a lot of cushion for the top seed in the NFC. They are 4-0 in the so-called gauntlet of their schedule, with wins over the Dolphins, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Bills. Up next for them are the Niners, Cowboys, and Seahawks, before they finally get some easier games on their schedule to close out the season.
So how did they do it? How do they keep doing it? What are they doing so well that they continue to win? Let’s take a deeper look.
Here are 6 numbers that tell the story of their win over the Bills:
