The Midday Show With Andrew Salciunas – Weekdays 10am – 2pm

Weekdays 10am-2pm

John LeClair of the Philadelphia Flyers in action during the NHL Eastern Conference Quarter Finals game against the Buffalo Sabres at the Marine Midland Arena in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres defeated the Flyers 4-1.

With Anthony in Italy for a few weeks, Andrew Salciunas slid into the host’s chair, with Jamie Lynch co-hosting with him. That meant Ray Dunne was in charge of The Audio Vault. Every day on The Anthony Gargano show they dive into the Vault to pull out stuff relevant to the day. That may be famous Birthdays, things that happened on this day in history, or more. Today they revisited Lou Gehrig’s Farewell Speech, the birthdays of John LeClair and Gary Matthews, and more.

Here is the full lineup from today’s Audio Vault:

  • Anniversary of Lou Gehrig Farewell Speech
  • Robin Roberts Throws 28 Straight Complete Games
  • Happy Birthday John LeClair

Choonis And The Bro Give A Hard-Hitting Breakdown Of Wawa Hoagie Day

Wawa Hoagie Day has become the talk of the city of Philadelphia.

The area’s perennial favorite hoagie destination has made roughly 25,000 hoagies weighing seven tons to hand out to the public for free on June 28.

Wawa will start handing out the signature shorties at 12 pm on Wednesday, June 28 at the corner of 6th Street and Arch Street in the Old City section of Philadelphia.

Anyone who attends can also enter the Constitution Center for free from 10am-5pm.

The event is a great chance for the whole family to enjoy the story of national history just a few days before the 4th of July in America’s birthplace.

Wawa Hoagie Day Excites 97.5 The Fanatic Hosts

Andrew Salciunas and Jamie Lynch joined in on the fun with a hard-hitting discussion about their go-to orders from the Philadelphia area’s most reliable spot for a hoagie.

The guys never shy away from the best food topics in Philly sports radio. Jamie is the reigning “Sizzli King” of the Philadelphia area, and Andrew never resists a good touchscreen order to turn around a tough day.

Maybe it was the hoagies and soft pretzels they ate at the 97.5 The Fanatic studio in the morning, but they showed more passion about their Wawa preferences than the Philadelphia 76ers did in the final two games of the Boston Celtics series.

They posed the questions to each other.

They posed the questions to producer Ray Dunne.

The conversation went back and forth with insightful food takes, but they couldn’t possibly decide the personal preference of all Philadelphians unanimously when they talked about the burning questions:

What’s your go-to Wawa order?

Is there an order you save for a special type of situation?

Whether local residents want to admit it or not, they probably have a clear answer to both these questions.

  • Jamie Shows the Passion for His Favorite Order

The go-to order is a must for Philadelphians, and Jamie Lynch embodied the city with the absolute conviction he showed by pointing out the specifics of his “everyday” hoagie order.

“Honey smoked turkey, little bit of mayo, little of vinegar, lettuce, tomato, onion, hot and sweet pepper, grated parm, and oregano.” -Jamie Lynch

He didn’t stutter. He said it with the authority to lead you to believe he’s done this more than once or twice.

  • Andrew's Reliable Breakfast Order

“I could eat the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant every day.” -Andrew Salciunas

Everyone needs a trustworthy order for those mornings when you just don’t have it in you to go with anything but ‘old reliable’ to get you started.

  • Jamie's Certain Type of Craving

Jamie made yet another statement with conviction about his go-to order in a specific type of situation when he needs a little something extra.

A sausage, egg, and cheese on a biscuit can hit the spot in a desperate kind of way.

“The biscuit’s got the girth to it. (It) kind of sits in your stomach a little bit.” -Jamie Lynch

  • Andrew's Go-To Order

He chose the chicken salad hoagie.

“It’s thick, man. You’re getting hooked up. I do the American cheese, the banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion.” -Andrew Salciunas

Andrew also admitted a guilty pleasure in adding the stuffed cheese pretzel at the checkout counter.

  • Ray Dunne Checking In

Ray Dunne called himself a “simpleton” on the basic Italian hoagie order. He goes with the lettuce, onion, sweet peppers, oil, and vinegar as a steady order.

However, his real wild card statement came with the preference for roasted veggie quesadillas in a certain type of mood.

“That thing is nice. That thing’s gotten me through a lot of good mornings.” -Ray Dunne
