Flyers Shutout Sabres 4-0
By: Haley Taylor Simon
The Flyers traveled up to Buffalo for this rescheduled game to take on the Sabres for their first of three matchups this season. Buffalo happens to be the youngest team in the NHL this season, but Philadelphia leads the league in players with the most points under 23. Last night was all orange. and black domination. Ersson was in net as Hart rested; and was able to stop all 28 shot attempts on net.
Samuel Ersson turned aside all 28 shots he faced to backstop the @NHLFlyers to a shutout win at KeyBank Center.#NHLStats: https://t.co/jMFqe7susE pic.twitter.com/Le4lLuuCmh

This game the younger guys stepped up big time as in the first period Macewen, Farabee, and N. Cates, all contributed to the Flyers’ 3-0 lead. The second period didn’t have as much action, but the 3rd peri0d Allison was able to give the Flyers an insurance goal (4-0).

Coming back from a dominating California road trip to face one of the best teams in the league, the Toronto Maple Leafs, who beat the Flyers 6-2, the team was able to shake off that game and perform how they did in California. Tortorella has been big on making sure the guys are not only focused, but accountable for their actions.
This was a good team win, but it’s only going to get harder this week as they face the Capitals. Puck drop is at 7pm Wed.
