Eagles Name Their Team Captains
With a little over 1 week until their first game of the season, the Eagles have elected their team captains for the 2022 to 2023 season.

- Center- Jason Kelce
- LT- Lane Johnson
Defense
- CB- Darius Slay
- DT- Fletcher Cox
- DE- Brandon Graham
Special Teams
- K- Jake Elliott
No surprises here. This will be the fifth time Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have been elected as captains by their teammates. It also looks like it could be their last season with the Eagles. Kelce has mulled retirement for several seasons now. And he helped pick his replacement in this past draft. Meanwhile, Cox has been on the decline, and restructured his contract in the offseason, leaving only one year left. Brandon Graham is now a four-time captain. And Jalen Hurts a two-time captain. Lane Johnson, Darius Slay, and Jake Elliott are all first-time captains.
Rodney McLeod and Alex Singleton were both captains last year but departed for new teams this offseason. Apart from them, Jalen Hurts, Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, and Brandon Grahams were also captains the previous year. But Graham’s season ended early after he ruptured his achilles.
The Eagles season starts September 11th in Detroit versus the Lions. They sit at a 4-point favorite as of now. They have also seen an influx of bets on them to win both the NFC East and to have the best record in the NFC after their recent move to acquire CJ Gardner-Johnson. There is legit hype around the team, and not just locally. And now we know who will serve as the captains for this team who suddenly have very high expectations for them.
