Eagles Can Make Major Improvements According To NFLPA
The Philadelphia Eagles have taken a tumble in the team’s NFL Players Association (NFLPA) report cards. The Eagles dropped from fourth in 2024 to 22nd in 2025 in the league’s annual survey of 32 teams. This year’s report was based on surveying 1,695 players this past season. The NFLPA broke the report card down into different categories.
Below are some of the Eagles scores in several categories:
- Treatment of Families: C- in 2025; C in 2024
- Food and Dining Area: A- in 2025; A in 2024
- Locker Room: D+ in 2025; B- in 2024
- Strength Coaches: B in 2025; A- in 2024
- Team Travel: F in 2025; C in 2024
- Ownership: B in 2025; A in 2024
The NFLPA commented on the Eagles 2025 report card: “There are many seemingly low-cost improvements the team could make that would quickly improve the players’ experience. Players identify three easy fixes: providing child care on game days (like most NFL teams do), prioritizing first-class seating for players instead of coaches, and staggering lunch times to avoid overcrowding in the cafeteria. Currently, players wait in long lines and are unable to find places to sit and eat because the business staff takes up most of the space.”
It is important to realize these grades came before this season. So instead of coming off this Super Bowl run, it came off the disaster that was the 2023-2024 season. The better grades from the year before came when the Eagles made it all the way to the Super Bowl and lost. So when these grades come out next year, as a reaction to this past season, you might be a better response.
Still, there are things the Eagles could clearly improve on. For one, more comfortable seating on the plane. Unlike many teams, the Eagles do not have a team plane. They charter flights. The planes they charter are still nice, but still not spacy enough for Football players.
Imagine how uncomfortable you are in coach. Now imagine being 6 ft8 like Jordan Mailata is. The NFLPA suggested letting players have First Class Seats, but there is not enough space there for every player. Lurie getting an Eagles plane, like other teams have, and remodeling it to have bigger seats, with more space for the players, might be a better plan.
Then there is the daycare thing. The Eagles are one of just three teams who do not offer daycare for their players. That seems like an easy fix. It might be only a handful of players who use it, and they might make enough money to pay for their own daycare, but it would be a small touch that shows the team cares about its players. Nearly every other in the league already offers it.
Other issues are more complicated to fix. The Novacare Complex is outdated at this point, compared to other teams with newer and nicer practice facilities. It is outdated from the facilities a lot of these players use in College. The Georgia boys saw a massive downgrade from what they got in College.
Eventually, the team will have to build a new facility to keep up with the times. We are already hearing rumblings of a new stadium too. This is likely when they could improve the poor grade for the Locker Room, and the middling grade for things like the Weight Room. A new facility, or at least a major overhaul of the Novcare, could come before that.
Just winning it all this year will likely lead to better grades next year. But there are still things the Eagles can do to improve the player experience. Starting with providing daycare, and fixing the team flight issues.
