It is another Mock Draft Monday, meaning it is time for another computer-simulated mock draft. We let the computer make all the picks for the Eagles, and we react to the picks. Who did the Eagles end up with in Computer Mock Draft 5.0? Was there another trade-up? Did they continue to target defensive linemen?

Here Is Computer Mock Draft 5.0

*TRADE* Round 1, Pick 31: EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku- Boston College

Eagles traded up 1 spot with their 1st round pick. They sent a 2026 5th Round Pick to the Commanders, who had already traded down with the Chiefs, to move up 1 spot, and get an Edge Rusher out of Boston College.

Ezeiruaku already appeared in Mock Draft 2.0, and we also previewed him as a prospect in a full breakdown. But what you need to know about him is that he had great production in College, 16.5 sacks last season, possessed elite traits, and has a utility belt full of pass rush moves that would make Batman jealous. He is also a local kid, hailing from South Jersey.

They only gave up a future 5th-round pick, and they got a very good prospect. If Howie does this on draft night, fans should be very happy. He is maybe a bit small, but he has a freakishly long wingspan that helps make up for it.

Round 2, Pick 64: RB TreVeyon Henderson- Ohio State

RB is a sneaky need for the Eagles. Yes they have Saquon, but he got a lot of carries last year. While he stayed healthy, he has a history of missing games. Counting on him for that many carries, and 20+ games again seems risky. AJ Dillon off a neck injury, plus Will Shipley in his 2nd year, is maybe not ideal depth.

Henderson put up big numbers for Ohio State. He was never a bell cow back, but was productive in the 10 carries he averaged per game. Getting someone who has proven they can be productive with limited carries makes sense.

That said, while Henderson is a good player, and they could use RB depth, a 2nd round pick is maybe a bit rich. There are other interesting backs who will be available on day 3, the Eagles have bigger needs, and there are still other interesting prospects available at pick 64. So not a bad pick, but maybe not the best use of resources.

Round 3, Pick 96: CB Dorian Strong- Virginia Tech

CB is another sneaky need. Obviously you have Quinyon locking down 1 side of the field for at least 4 more years. Cooper DeJean will either cover the slot or move to the other side of the field. But that 3rd corner spot is a question. People are high on Kelee Ringo, but he has not proven anything at the NFL level. Having insurance policies would make sense.

Is Strong the right insurance policy? He was very good at VT, giving up only 2 TDs and under 500 yards in 800+ coverage snaps the past 2 seasons. He also came away with 5 picks. He took a small step back last year but in 2023 he allowed a passer rating of 11.8. By the way, his stepback was allowing a passer rating of 61.6.

Strong has the makings of a future starter. In the short term, he would provide much-needed depth.

Round 4, Pick 134: OG Miles Frazier- LSU

Frazier is a sleeper pick I love in this draft. He gave up 0 sacks last season in the SEC. He also gave up only 1 QB hit, 13 pressures, and 12 QB hurries. This comes after he gave up 1 sack, 1 QB Hit, 6 pressures, and 4 hurries in 2023. He is also 6ft6, and a decent athlete for his size.

Plus, he was a Senior Bowl Standout. He could be a starter. Maybe not year 1, but year 2? He has that type of upside. This would be a great get for Stoutland U in round 4.

Round 5, Pick 161: OG Garrett Dellinger- LSU

Eagles double dip on the LSU O-Line. Dellinger had one of the best RAS scores for any OG in this draft. His score of 9.76 out of 10 is 2nd in the draft class. He is more of a run blocker than a pass blocker, but there is no better team to land with for him than the Eagles if that is the case.

Still, taking two guards does not make a ton of sense. And while he is a great athlete for a OG, Frazier has the higher upside of the LSU guards.

Round 5, Pick 164: OT Jalen Rivers- Miami

It is not beyond possibility for the Eagles to go heavy on the O-Line. But 3 of them with your 1st 3 day 3 picks seems far-fetched even for the Eagles.

Rivers is a big guy. But a word that kept coming up in the scouting reports about him is stiff. Eagles like their O-Linemen to move well. Rivers doesn't. he is more of an old-school big guy who just beats you with raw power. And he could do that well in the NFL. But the Eagles zone blocking scheme may not be the best fit for him to do that.

Round 5, Pick 165: LB Jack Kiser- Notre Dame

The second time Kiser has appeared in one of these computer mock drafts. Maybe the computer knows something...

Here is what I wrote when he landed with the Eagles in Mock Draft 1.0.

"As part of the Notre Dame defense that helped them get all the way to the National Championship game, Kiser played at a pretty high level. He is a smart instinctual player, though not the most explosive athlete. He kind of fits a similar mold Jeremiah Trotter Jr fit last season. The fact he is experienced on Special Teams is a plus too since he likely would not see the field much on defense in year 1. But he has the upside to be a solid piece."

Round 5, Pick 168: CB Zah Frazier- UTSA

Is CB enough of a need to double dip on them in this draft? It would be tough for two rookie corners to make the team. The Eagles already have Mitchell, DeJean, Ringo, and Eli Ricks. The Eagles like Ricks enough to have kept him despite being mostly inactive all last season. Add on Strong who would be a lock to make it as the 3rd round pick, and it would leave Frazier fighting for a 6th spot that might not exist.

If you are going to take another corner, they better have a high upside. Luckily, Frazier does. He is tall, fast, quick, and athletic. He is still raw and has technique stuff to work on. But he is the ideal day 3 pick. Someone from a small school, who could be flying under the radar. Some scouts think Frazier could grow into an NFL starter.

Mock Draft Simulated By Pro Football Network

The Eagles have been around for a long time. They were founded in 1933, making them the 8th oldest team in the NFL. Some of those teams older than them either moved or changed their name at that time, while the Eagles have always been the Eagles, except for one year in the 40s when they merged with the Steelers to become the Steagles.

Throughout those 80+ years of existence, things have not always been great. In the 40s they were a near dynasty, winning two National Championships at the end of the decade. Then in 1960, they took down the juggernaut that was Vince Lombardi's Packers. But once the Super Bowl era started, the Eagles winning ways ended for a long time. It took until 1980 for them to make a Super Bowl, and until 2017 to win one. The Andy Reid era featured a ton of wins, just not in the most important game of the year.

But despite the lack of Super Bowl Rings until recently, there have still been a lot of great players to come through Philly. Some All-Time great players. The likes of Reggie White, Jerome Brown, Brian Dawkins, and more. In fact, the Eagles have sent 25 players to the Hall of Fame.

But there is an honor even more rare, saved for only the greatest players in franchise history. Having your Jersey retired.

So far only 9 players have been given that honor. But are there more on the way? Let's first look at the 9 guys whose Jersey numbers have already been retired. And then let's look at the cases of more guys who may have a shot at one day seeing their numbers up there among the other greats in team history.

Here are the Eagles who have already had their numbers retired:

#5- Donovan McNabb (QB, 1999–2009)

McNabb’s legacy in Philly is complicated. It is a shame he never quite gelled with the fans. He is the greatest QB in Eagles history. So he deserved to have his number retired. But he is barely part of the team anymore. You don’t see him still doing things in the city like Brian Dawkins and other Eagles legends do. He just never got over getting booed, and fans never got over him not getting over it. It sucks that this is the case. But despite all of that, retiring his number 5 was still the right choice.

#15- Steve Van Buren (RB, 1944–1951)

Van Buren was a massive part of the Eagles' two NFL Championships in the 40s. He was a 5-time All-Pro, a Hall of Famer, and the Eagles' All-Time leading rusher for a long time. He still holds the record for rushing touchdowns. Until Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy came around, he was pretty much the consensus greatest Eagles RB ever. It's hard to compare guys from different eras, but based purely on accomplishments, Van Buren still has a very strong case.

#20- Brian Dawkins (S, 1996–2008)

The favorite Eagle of most people my age. Brian Dawkins was with the Eagles for over a decade. He is one of the greatest Safeties of all time and has a case to be the greatest Eagle of all time. Once he went into the Hall of Fame it was an obvious move to take 20 out of circulation. Outside of Reggie White, no one on this list is more deserving of the honor than Weapon X.

#40- Tom Brookshier (DB, 1953, 1956–1961)

Brookshier’s career was shorter than it should have been. Injuries ended it early, and he also missed two seasons to serve in the Military. But he was a two-time Pro Bowler, part of the Championship team that beat the Packers in 1960. What really sealed his place is what he did post-career. He was part of the Eagles’ local broadcast team until the NFL did away with local teams, and then moved into being one of the premier broadcasters forming a legendary broadcast duo with Pat Summerall.

#44 - Pete Retzlaff (TE/WR, 1956–1966)

When Pistol Pete retired, he led the Eagles in receptions and receiving yards. He is still 2nd in yards and 3rd in receptions. What's weird is the guy who passed him in both stats, Harold Carmichael, has not only not had his number 17 retired, but it's been worn by multiple people since, including Nakobe Dean right now. But even if Carmichael got snubbed, it's hard to argue against Retzlaff.

#60 - Chuck Bednarik (C/LB, 1949–1962)

For a long time, Bednarik was the greatest Eagles of all time. People who watched him play may still argue his case. 10 All-Pros, 2 National Championships, and an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Concrete Charlie was a legend. His crushing hit on Frank Gifford is still among the greatest moments in NFL History.

#70 - Al Wistert (OT, 1943–1951)

Weistert is 4 time All-Pro, and is an Eagles Hall of Famer. But not an NFL Hall of Famer. He was another part of the Eagles team in the 40s that won multiple NFL Championships. He spent all 9 years of his career with the Eagles, including one year when they merged with the Steelers to become the Steagles.

#92 -Reggie White (DE, 1985–1992)

Reggie White is not just the greatest Eagle ever, he is one of the best players in NFL history period. White is two sacks short of Bruce Smith for the most in NFL History. Recently there was a graphic showing that TJ Watt passed his brother JJ on the list of most sacks in a player's first 100 games. What stood out to me though was that White was number one with 105, 17 more than TJ at 2. White is a legend.

#99 - Jerome Brown (DT, 1987–1991)

Jerome Brown’s jersey retirement was not the glorious celebration it should have been. Instead, it was a ceremony mixed with grief after he passed away way too young, still in the prime of his career. In an ideal world, Jerome Brown would have been coming here as a 50-year-old man and Philly would be celebrating his long and successful career. Regardless, Brown is worthy of the honor.

People Whose Numbers Could Be Retired

Now let's look at 8 guys who have a case for it. These are either guys still on the team, or guys whose number has not been worn since they left the Eagles. Meaning there could be a chance the Eagles are planning on retiring their number. Harold Carmichael would be on here, but enough people have worn #17 that it seems they have no plans of retiring the number.

Too Soon

There are some active guys who could make a case but are too young to have a real case yet. Jalen Carter's 98, Jordan Mailata's 68, Quinyon Mitchell's 27, or Cooper DeJean's 33. Devonta Smith has also started to make a strong case for his number 6, though he might have a hard time as long as he is overshadowed by AJ Brown. After how great those guys have been early in their careers, you could see them having great long careers here that end in the Hall of Fame, and having their number retired. But for now, it is too soon to tell.

#1- Jalen Hurts

He has now won a Super Bowl here, and Super Bowl MVP. He made it to another Super Bowl. He is still very young. If he wins again, he is probably a Hall of Famer. He can easily supplant McNabb as the Eagles' greatest QB of all time and could become the greatest Eagle period. The national media might still doubt him, but Eagles fans know the guy as a flat-out winner who always gets the job done. It is very easy to see his number 1 hanging in the rafters one day in the future.

If they retired McNabb's number, and have protected Randall Cunningham's number all this time, they have to retire Hurts number too.

#9- Nick Foles

He won the Eagles their first Super Bowl. Was he a great QB? No. Was his career mostly just two great runs, surrounded by mediocre play? Sure. Would he be the worst player to ever have his number retired? Maybe. But he was Super Bowl MVP for the Eagles first Super Bowl. That alone could be enough to retire his number 9.

#11- AJ Brown

There is a very good chance that AJ Brown holds every Eagles WR record by the end of his career. If he plays out the rest of his contract here, that is exactly what he is on pace to do. And if that happens, and if he helps the team win any more Super Bowls, he should not only going to get his number retired, but he will make the Hall of Fame. With that said, Carmichael is in the Hall of Fame and owns the Eagles WR records, and like I already said, his number 17 is currently being worn by Nakobe Deann and was worn by Alshon Jeffrey, Nelson Agholor, and 3 other players.

#12- Randall Cunningham

It feels like if they were going to retire his number, they would have by now. With that said, his number 12 has been untouched since he left Philly. So clearly there is some consideration, and deservedly so. Cunningham’s time here will forever be a missed opportunity. So much talent, but a Head Coach completely incapable of utilizing it. At the very least they should keep his number 12 untouched for as long as possible.

#25- LeSean McCoy

Like Randall, no one has worn McCoy’s 25 since he left Philly. McCoy is the Eagles' most productive RB ever, though Saquon Barkley could have something to say about that. Being the best to ever do it at a position is worthy of consideration for a Jersey retirement, but Saquon could hurt his case by proving himself to be the Eagles' greatest back ever. 25 was also the number of another Eagles legend, Tommy McDonald. Like with Randall, Shady may not get his number officially retired. But they should keep it out of circulation as long as they can.

#26 Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley just had one of the best seasons by a RB ever and helped his team win the Super Bowl. He has only been here 1 year, but Nick Foles entire argument relies on 1 year. So if people are going to say Foles could have his number retired, Saquon could as well. And after signing a big extension, he will get the chance to replicate last season and push himself into the pantheon of the greatest Eagles players ever.

#55- Brandon Graham

Some of the guys from that 2017 Super Bowl team are locks, like Kelce. Johnson, and Peters. Graham is harder because he is probably not a Hall of Famer. But still, Graham has been an integral part of the Eagles for a long time, is the Eagles' all-time leader in games played, and is 3rd on their Sacks list.

Oh, and he forced the fumble that helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl. You can't retire everyone's number. But he is at the very least deserving of a mention. And his number 55 should be protected as long as possible if it is not retired.

#62- Jason Kelce

This one is a no-brainer. He is the greatest Center in Eagles history, a lock for the Hall Of Fame, and one of the most popular players in the city. Not to mention he is one of the main faces form the Eagles first ever Super Bowl. It is just a matter of when and not if. Like with most guys, they will probably wait until he is inducted into the Hall of Fame.

#65- Lane Johnson

Lane is going to be a Hall of Famer, he won 2 Super Bowls here, and will get a chance at more. Like Kelce he should be a no-brainer. Being on the Super Bowl Winning team is worthy of there being multiple numbers retired from that one team. Being on both Super Bowl teams makes the case even stronger. And Lane is a big reason why they won both.

#71- Jason Peters

Like Kelce, Peters is a lock for the Hall of Fame. That is a good start. He was on the Super Bowl-winning team, though he was injured and did not play. He protected the Eagles' blind side for 11 years, though most Eagles fans wish that reign ended two years earlier. He is not as sure of a yes as Kelce is. Him holding on a bit too long hurt his reputation with Eagles fans a bit. But even considering that, Peters is probably the best player the Eagles had that whole era. No one should wear 71 again.

#91- Fletcher Cox

Cox gets a bit disrespected. The guy is a Hall of Famer and became one of the Eagles' most important leaders later in his career. In his prime, he was one of the best in the whole league. Even later in his career, he was a solid player. If he gets into the Hall, and he should, he should also see his number 91 taken out of circulation for good.
