Computer Mock Draft 2.0- Eagles Trade Down, Get An EDGE
Last week we ran the simulated mock draft 1.0, where I just let the computer simulate the Eagles draft. It is something I will do every Monday between here and the draft. Last time it saw the Eagles taking Mike Green, the EDGE out of Marshall with some off-the-field issues.

I am using Pro Football Network’s Mock Draft Tool for the experiment. Mostly because it is the only one that allows you to run a Mock Draft without picking a team.
Who did the Eagles get this time? Here are the results.
Computer Mock Draft 2.0
*TRADE* Round 2, Pick 35: EDGE- Donovan Ezeiruaku- Boston College
There are a lot of people who think the Eagles simply won’t pick in the 1st round this year because they will trade out to add some draft capital. Talent-wise, who you get at pick 32 is similar to who you could get at the start of the 2nd Round. But the big benefit to them being a 1st round pick is that 5th-year option. Teams are willing to pay a premium for it.
So in this case, the Eagles cashed in, and traded down with the Titans, who gave the Eagles pick 35, and pick 119 in the 4th round. And at 35 the Eagles took the productive EDGE Rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku out of Boston College.
Ezeiruaku is among the most productive players in this draft. He had 16.5 sacks last season, a pass Rush Win rate of 18.2%, and a Run Stop Win rate of 10.1%, all elite among Edge Rushers in this draft. He is also one of the best athletes in the class, topping all EDGEs at the Combine with a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.19 seconds. He is a bit shorter than your average Edge Rusher, but he has the wingspan to make up for it.
He is projected to go in the 1st round, so snagging him in the 2nd, and adding an extra 4th round pick, would at least on paper be a big win for Howie.
Round 2, Pick 64: TE- Harold Fannin Jr.- Bowling Green
A 2nd straight time where the computer mocked a TE to the Eagles in the 2nd round. Last time they went with the Combine winner, Terrence Ferguson. This time they went with the guy who had the most college production.
Harold Fannin led all TEs this past season in Catches (117), yards (1,555), and TDs (10). That production won him The MAC MVP. He broke pretty much every Bowling Green Record and several FBS records. But before you think it was just the MAC, two of his best performances came vs Penn State (137 yards and a TD) and Texas A&M (145 yards and a TD).
So will that insane production translate to the NFL? He is a reliable pass catcher, and his above-average speed and quickness make him a threat after the catch. He could be a top TE when it comes to production. But some scouts wonder if his average size and strength could hinder him when it comes to contested catches, and as a blocker. It is hard to argue with the production though.
*TRADE* Round 3, Pick 80: LB Barrett Carter- Clemson
The Eagles gained an extra 4th on day 1, and now they use another 4th to trade up on day 2. The Eagles sent the Colts Picks 96 and Pick 129 to get up to 80 and take Barrett Carter, who also showed up on Mock Draft 1.0.
In that case, they took him at pick 64. This time he falls to 80, and the Eagles pull the trigger to go up and get him. Since 1.0, the Eagles have re-signed Baun. but LB could still be a need with Dean recovering from injury and on the last year of his deal.
Here is what I wrote about Carter as a player last time.
“Barrett Carter looked destined to become the best LB in college. He followed up a great Sophomore Year with an ok Junior year and took another step back in 2024. But the traits that made him once so highly regarded are there. He still projects to be a solid starting LB in the NFL.”
Round 4, Pick 199: OT Ozzy Trapilo- Boston College
Boston College is not usually a school a team will double dip from in the draft, but in this case, the Eagles land two BC Eagles.
Trapilo is a 3-year start at BC. He played 647 snaps at LT in 2022, and since then has 1,536 snaps at RT. In the past 2 years, he gave up just 2 sacks, 4 QB hits, and 26 pressures. All fewer than the totals he gave up in 2022 as the LT.
Trapilo would fit in well in Philly, and not just because he is already an Eagle. Like many of the Eagles current O-Linemen, he is a massive man, standing at 6ft8. But while he is tall, he could stand to add some mass, weighing in at just 309 LBs.
He is the type of guy with the tools you would like to see Jeff Stoutland work with. But he is definitely a project.
Round 5, Pick 162: OG- Jonah Monheim- USC
Jonah Monheim has something the Eagles love, versatility. He split 1000 snaps between RT and RG in 2022, spent most of 2023 over at LT, and then moved to center in 2024. In over 1600 pass block snaps between the 3 years and 4 positions, he allowed only 2 sacks.
That is the good part. But his lack of size and length has scouts doubting his upside. He is an above-average athlete for the position, but maybe not a good enough one to make up for holes elsewhere in his game.
Round 5, Pick 166: EDGE- Oluwafemi Oladejo- UCLA
Oluwafemi Oladejo started his College career with Cal where he played inside Linebacker. The transfer to UCLA eventually came with a change to EDGE that unlocked his potential. He is definitely a developmental pick and still needs to hone his instincts off the EDGE, but he has the tools and the build to turn into a good Edge Rusher if he lands in the right spot.
His great performance at the Senior Bowl likely caught the attention of many scouts around the league.
Round 5, Pick 169: OT- Jack Nelson- Wisconsin
The Eagles value O-Line more than anyone, but even they probably won’t spend 3 of their 4 day 3 picks on the position. They are returning at least 4 of their 5 starters, and still have Trevor Keegan who they drafted last year and clearly liked enough to keep around despite being inactive nearly every week.
That said, Nelson is an intriguing prospect. He is another giant standing at 6ft7 and was one of the best pass blockers in the Nation last year with a Pass Rush win rate of 95.7%. But like the other two Offensive Linemen projected in this Mock, scouts think he needs to get stronger. Not exactly the thing you want to hear about an Offensive Lineman, let alone 3 separate ones acquired in the same draft.
