Eagles Make Us Sweat But Advance To NFC Championship
The Eagles never make it easy. They dropped passes, missed extra points, took a bad Safety, and allowed a late drive into the Red Zone. There are many Eagles fans likely still recovering from the massive amount of stress inflicted on them in this game. But in the end, the result is what matters, and your Eagles will be hosting the NFC Championship game after beating the Rams 28-22.
They won by 6, and the Rams had a chance at a game-winning TD late, but if it were not for those mistakes along the way, it could have been an easy win.
Mistakes Nearly Cost The Eagles
Jake Elliott missed two extra points. AJ Brown dropped 2 passes, 1 that could have led to a TD. Jalen Hurts took an ugly safety in the 2nd half and took several other bad sacks along the way. They also dropped 3 picks. They let the Rams stick around, and it nearly cost them in the end.
People who want to pick apart a win will have plenty of material to work with. But they live to fight another week. Saquon Barkley racked up over 200 yards, including 2 long TD runs. Elliott might have missed those extra points, but he also hit 2 clutch FGs in the heavy snow. The defense got some key stops, including the final 1 that sealed the win. This Jalen Carter sack might be why they survived.
It will be another week like last week. People will talk about how they need to be better in next game, or they are going to lose. People will worry about the struggles of Jalen Hurts and the poor playcalling of Kellen Moore. All of that is fair.
But after the Commanders upset the Lions, not only will they play, but they will host. It will be Eagles Commanders at 3:30 next week at the Linc. Breathe easy Eagles fans. That may have been stressful, but for at least a few days, you can relax. Enjoy the win. Look forward to another game at the Linc next week.
