Tune In For Our Sixers Youth Foundation Gala Broadcast
Join us tomorrow night (1/17/24) as we broadcast live from The Sixth Annual Sixers Youth Foundation Gala. From 7 to 9 pm, Andrew Salciunas, Bob Cooney, and Tyrone Johnson will be live from the Please Touch Museum. Sixers President Daryl Morey is already confirmed as a guest, with more past and current Sixers guests potentially to come.
All proceeds for the event go towards The Sixers Youth Foundation. It is a non-profit organization “committed to bringing positive, meaningful change through the sport of basketball to the lives of young people in the Greater Philadelphia Area.” Last year’s Gala raised a record $1.5 million for the foundation.
The theme for this year’s event is “50 Years of Hip-Hop”. And by that, they mean the music genre, not the former Sixers mascot. Sixers players, coaches, and alumni will be in attendance to celebrate the impact and evolution of Hip-Hop.
In a Sixers Press Release, Marjorie Harris, The Chair of The Sixers Youth Foundation, had this to say about the event:
“Now more than ever, there is a need across the Greater Philadelphia region for more programming designed to positively impact, support and inspire our youth. The annual Sixers Youth Foundation Gala gives us the opportunity to do just that by raising funds to support organizations that create valuable youth sports and education-based programming in the communities we serve. The best part is that our Gala is one of the most unique and fun nights of the year, where you’ll get to mingle with 76ers stars past and present, listen to amazing live performers, and enjoy great food and drink.”
Here is a scene from what the Gala was like last year:
In addition to the Gala, there is a Silent Auction that you can participate in either in person or online. You can bid on various experiences and items here. They also accept donations on the same page.
So if you can’t be there, join us as we broadcast live from the event tomorrow night.
