Johan Rojas Called Up To Phillies, Christian Pache to the IL
One of the most exciting young players in the Phillies farm system is finally making his debut. No not Andrew Painter. He is still in injury limbo. Johan Rojas has been called up to the Major League roster. He replaces Christian Pache who is heading back to the IL with what is being called a minor injury.
The Phillies are indeed calling up Johan Rojas, as @mikedeportes reported. It sounds like Cristian Pache could go on the IL with a minor injury. Rojas would fill Pache's role for now.

Drew Ellis is expected to be recalled for Josh Harrison, who went on IL.
Johan Rojas has been on a tear in AA this season. He is slashing .306/.361/.484/.845 down there with 9 HRs and a staggering 30 stolen bases. Now at 22, he will get his first crack at playing in the Majors. How long that will last will likely depend on how he plays. For now, he is here to replace Pache until he can come off the IL. But there theoretically could be an opening if he plays at a high level.
Eventually, the plan is to move Bryce Harper to 1st, which would allow Schwarber to be the DH, opening up a spot in Left Field. The common thought would be it would be either Pache in leftfield or a deadline acquisition. But now Rojas has a chance to make his case for that job. If not, he could always go back to the minors and next year would likely be his chance.
There is of course the potential that this could be his showcase for a potential trade at the deadline. He is likely a guy the Phillies would prefer to hold onto. But you would never say never if the right player, like Nolan Arenado or Paul Goldschmidt, became available, and Rojas was the price.
Regardless, it should be interesting to see what the Phillies young outfielder has in him. While he is up here, he will likely just fill Pache’s exact role. Platooning with Marsh in Centerfield, and then replacing Kyle Schwarber in left late in games when the Phillies have a lead.
Phillies All-Star Break Report Card For All 26 Guys on The Roster
We have finally reached the All-Star Break. After a rough April and May, the Phillies have started to turn things around. This past week they swept the AL-leading Rays. Though they did follow that up dropping 2 of 3 to the Marlins. So now they go into the break 48-41, and half a game behind the Giants for the 3rd Wild Card. But that’s after entering June under .500 and way further out of the Playoffs. There have been a lot of ups and downs to this point. Struggling stars. Emerging young players. Bounce back seasons, and more.
So what to make of the first half? Probably worse than it should have been, but better than it could have been. The bullpen has been as good as any in baseball. The back of the rotation has been great too. But their supposed Aces have left a lot to be desired. And the lineup, the thing that was supposed to carry them, has at times been incredibly disappointing.
But who is doing their job, and who isn’t? Which players have stood out as playing well? What players need to pick up their game in the 2nd half? The All-Star break is a good point to go player by player and evaluate each of their performances through the first half of the season. Which is exactly what we did. Here is what grade every Phillies player got for their first-half performance.
Only players currently on the team, or on The IL, got grades. So guys like Bailey Falter, Kody Clemens, Daulton Gauthrie, or others who were on the team, but got either cut or sent down, don’t get grades.
