When the Dallas Cowboys released longtime running back EzekielĀ ElliottĀ earlier this month, Philadelphia Eagles fans seemed happy about the decisionĀ that their rivals were losing a key piece of the offense.Ā Never did they give any thought to addingĀ him to the squad ā€“ NEVER!!!Ā 

Well… the time has come for the thought bubble to appear of Eagles fans heads. On Thursday, ESPNā€™s Adam Schefter reported that the seven-year veteran has narrowed down his choices of teams to join. The Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and, yes, the Eagles. Birds’ fans are now left to decide if they want Ezekiel Elliott to choose the team and ignore the many years of sports hatred for the Cowboysā€™ best player, or accept him for what he is as a decent running back who can help win the Super Bowl. Some advice ā€“ ignore the what logo was on his helmet if you like the player.Ā

Ask yourself…Ā can he still play?Ā What would he add to the running back room? Can I put all of theĀ CowboysĀ issues aside and root for whoā€™s wearing the uniform, not the name on the back of the jersey? Is he better than any of the backs already on the roster?Ā Does this take away from free agent pickup Rashaad Penny?Ā 

If you trust Howie Roseman, let the man cook. He has done a nice job in free agency and trades in the past + this offseason. Bringing in former Dallas players that have failed to help in the past has nothing to do with Elliott helping this particular group. Whatever it takes to get this team and city another championship should be welcome. Even if he played for the most disliked division rival. Roseman has struck gold before by bringing in players that seem to be on their last leg with another team. Some trust might have to be there if mutual interest lives between the two parties.


Tracking All The Eagles Free Agency News

The Eagles have a lot of free agents this off-season. Many of which are on their defense. A defense that was near the top of the league in every stat last season, could be looking very different in the next one. James Bradberry, Fletcher Cox, CJ Gardner Johnson, Brandon Graham, Kyzir White, TJ Edwards, Ndamukong Suh, Linval Joseph, Miles Sanders, and Isaac Seumalo, among other names. Then there is the news that Darius Slay was given permission to seek a trade. Not to mention we are awaiting to see whether Jason Kelce will retire or not. Meaning it could be a very busy free agency period for the Eagles. Even if the business is us watching all of the Eagles players go elsewhere.

The rumors have not been good for the Eagles. Multiple NFL insiders have suggested that nearly all of them could be heading elsewhere. So where will these Free agents land? Will any of them return to Philly? Or will the Eagles roster be left with more holes than a Shia Lebeauf movie? Legal Tampering has begun.
