Eagles Make Low Risk Signing By Bringing in Linebacker Nicholas Morrow
The Eagles lost both of their starting linebackers in Free Agency. TJ Edwards signed with the Bears. And then Kyzir White joined Jonathan Gannon in Arizona. The plan was always to give Nakobe Dean a larger role this season. Dean was a star at Georgia and should fill in very nicely. But that still left them in need of another linebacker. Well, now we have an answer for who that will be. Because the Eagles just made a nice low-risk signing by bringing in former Bears Linebacker Nicholas Morrow.

Nicholas Morrow led the Bears with 116 tackles last season. His coverage snaps left a little to be desired, but that could have been because he was still recovering from an ankle injury that cost him the entirety of 2021. In 2020 he performed very well in coverage, holding opposing players to just 4.5 yards per target. Morrow also racked up 3 sacks that season, and an interception.
He is a converted Safety, which we know the Eagles love at Linebacker. Morrow started his career with the Raiders as a Safety, but they quickly converted him to linebacker, and in 2020 he broke out at the position, and resigned with the Raiders in the offseason, before suffering an ankle injury. After missing 2021 he signed with the Bears and had a solid season. Now the Eagles hope he will refind his 2020 form.
Morrow should be expected to slot right into Kyzir White’s spot as the other starter. Like with White, he is on just a one-year deal and should make for a solid low-risk addition.
