The Audio Vault- The Double Doink
See what was found in The Audio Vault today on The Anthony Gargano Show. Andre Salciunas had the day off, so he have Ray Dunne the keys to the Vault. What did Ray find in there today? Here is the lineup from today’s Audio Vault, including some famous TV show debuts, a couple of famous Birthdays, and the anniversary of The Double Doink.
Wheel of Fortune Debuts
On this day in 1975, Wheel of Fortune Debuted. The show is still on to this day, it is among the longest-running game show on American television. And Ray went way back to its first season to pull the intro from an early episode, back when Chuck Woolery was still the host. And then he also pulled the audio of Pat Sajak being introduced as the host in 1981.
School House Rock Debuts
Today in 1973, School House Rock debuted on TV. The iconic tv show taught children history, language, civics, and math through music. And it is something till this day that many schools will still use to help teach kids even though it has been off the air for years. So Ray pulled it’s the original theme song to play for us today.
Happy Birthday Kate McKinnon
Today is Kate McKinnon’s Birthday. Kate is a longtime SNL Cast member but recently left to focus more on acting. And there is one sketch she did on SNL that hits very close to home. In the sketch, she parodied Mare of Easttown and the Delco accent. So Ray played a bit of that sketch for us today.
Happy Birthday Asante Samuel
And today is also the birthday of former Eagles corner Asante Samuel. Asante was the definition of a boom or bust corner. He made a living jumping routes, and more often than not it paid off for his team. he spent 4 seasons with the Eagles, and racked up 23 interceptions in that time. Two of those went for a TD, and he had 6 pick sixes total in his career. So Ray put together a montage of Asante pick 6s for The Vault today.
The Double Doink
On this day in 2019, the double doink happened. The Eagles came back to take the lead vs the Bears in the wildcard round of the playoffs. But the Bears drove down the field, to set up a chance at a game-winning FG. But former eagle Cody Parkey could not get it done. His kick bounced off the field goalpost twice, and out, to seal the Eagles’ win. Ray grabbed the go-ahead TD by Golden Tate, and the titular Fg attempt, for the Vault today.
Jeff Garcia Beats The Giants In the Playoffs
And tomorrow marks the date when Jeff Garcia led the Eagles to a playoff victory over the Giants in the playoffs in 2006. With the Eagles playing the Giants this weekend, Ray felt it appropriate to grab a montage of the Eagles’ win in that game.
