Shaquille O’Neal is one of those athletes that everyone knows, no matter if they watch sports or not. One of the reasons why that’s the case is because Shaq has a ton of endorsements. One of those endorsements is Icy Hot. I don’t expect anyone to sit there and ponder “man…..wonder how Shaq got the Icy Hot deal….” because most of the time these things are pretty cut and dry. The company offers a celebrity a certain amount of money and the celebrity will speak glowingly about the product. But when Shaq joined the John Kincade show Wednesday he said that his initial experience with Icy Hot was more Hot than icy.

“I had a thigh bruise and the Lakers trainer put some (Icy Hot) on my thighs. And I was having a great game. But my boys were starting to get real hot. And then i’mĀ running and they areĀ getting too hot. I had to call a time out and tell the trainer ‘hey man, my balls are on fire.”

Shaq raced to the shower but that didn’t help. And he was only saved when a Staples Center janitor gave “The Diesel” some great advice that you’ll have to listen to the interview to find out what it was. The story picks up around the 12:30 mark of the interview. Enjoy that mental image!
