Nationals trolling Phillies completely backfires in best way possible
In the midst of a significant stretch against division rivals, the Phillies made it to Washington to face the Nationals for the first time in 2020.
In the hours leading up to the game, the reigning World Series champs decided to share a rather … interesting tweet.

Let’s break this down for a second, shall we?
“Beating Philadelphia isn’t as hard as Philadelphians say it is.”
I don’t know about you, but have you ever heard a Philly fan say this? The Nationals probably pulled a muscle reaching for this one.
Now, let’s look at those dates in the graphic – and how they conveniently chose to look at only 2012 and beyond. It’s not like the Phillies absolutely dominated them, along with the entire NL East for the six years prior to that, right?
Only a team that was so certain of a win would dare to post something like this to their social media.
So, of course, the Nationals won.
Just kidding – that blew up in their faces (and it was amazing). The Phillies came to play and now have a 8-3 victory to show for it.
Moments after the final out was recorded, the Phillies were ready to fire back some elite internet trolling.
Nice to go on the road and have a place where we can stay rent-free. #RingTheBell pic.twitter.com/sqe44aPo4v
