Jason Kelce wears iconic Kobe Bryant jersey at practice, remembers his legacy
Jason Kelce wears his heart on his sleeve … and his jerseys.
Today at practice he paid tribute to the late Kobe Bryant by wearing a No. 33 jersey from Bryant’s alma mater, Lower Merion High School.
The basketball superstar who died in January in a helicopter crash, would have turned 42 today.
Kelce said teammate Jason Peters reminded him of the date. The Eagles center added, “I like to be supportive of Philly teams and friends of mine”.
Just last Friday, he wore a Flyers jersey under his own while practicing.
Kelce already had Kobe’s jersey in his locker. The two met when Bryant gave a moving pep talk to the team ahead of the Eagles game against the LA Rams in 2017.
Kelce called the speech one that would be “embedded in his soul.”
Two months later, Kobe shared video of himself celebrating the Eagles Super Bowl LII victory.
And of course, Kelce took the celebration up a notch, with his unforgettable speech while dressed as a mummer during the city’s Championship parade.
