Police Clear Flyers’ Gritty of Assault Violation
Monday morning, Philadelphia police have cleared Flyer’s mascot Gritty after he was accused of allegedly assaulting a fan at a photo event last year.
“That investigation, which has been completed and is no longer active, determined that the actions of the individual portraying the Flyers’ mascot did not constitute physical assault as alleged,” police said in a statement.
The young fan’s father filed a police report that initially led to an investigation and the father said the incident happened while taking pictures with Gritty during an exclusive season ticket holder event.
