Anthony Gargano’s Opening Diatribe- That Ball is Still Going
See How Anthony Gargano opened his show today after the Phillies took Game 1 from the Padres below…
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH HAHAHAHA!
OH MY, WHAT A NIGHT! RED OCTOBER!
There is nothing like Red October. What an incredible evening last night. The Fighting Phillies of 22. What an incredible game 1 of the National League Championship series. That ball is still going. What a bomb!
First, let’s get Wheeler, who was unhittable last night. He was absolutely unhittable last night. His fastball had great movement, his breaking ball spotted everything. I close my eyes I can still see Soto complaining. Whining. Because he was able to get his breaking ball over. He was nasty, he was philthy with a ph last night. Wheels up in San Diego last night.
And then the MVP. You needed to break that snide. Because Darvish was awesome last night too. You needed somebody to break through. And it was Bryce man. Off of Darvish, you need to hit off his fastball. He is going to breaking ball you to death. But you can’t hit the breaking ball, you have to hit off the fastball. And that is what Bryce did. He gets a piece of it. And he didn’t get all of it. But he got a piece of it. And that thing kept going, 1-0 Phillies. And that is all they needed. Then of course Schwarber hits the bomb. And it was a bomb. A mammoth homerun.
And then here it is the 8th inning. I go, you have to go Wheeler, bring him back out. Robby T goes Seranthony. And to his credit, Seranthony is ridiculous. Boom boom boom. Alvarado comes in, and the only thing I was praying was please don’t be wild. He gets the first out. Walks the second guy, and the butt starts getting tight. And then he gets the found ball. Because of the shift, he rushed, Stott can’t handle it. First and second, 1 out. Machado is up.
I don’t know about you guys, but I was watching with one eye open. But once he got Machado, it was alright. Josh Bell can be dangerous, but once he got ahead in the count, all he had to do was throw that pitch and he was swinging.
The Phillies take game 1. We ain’t losing. Game 2 is today at 4:35. It is going to be incredible. Nola today, it is Nola’s turn. And so the Fighting Phillies, like Bowadomus said yesterday, can come home 2-0. That’s the goal.”
