Eagles Week 1 Brazil Game To Air On Peacock, Here Is How You Can Watch it
We now know a bit more about the Eagles’ week 1 game in Brazil. A month ago, the NFL announced the Eagles would play host for the first-ever game in Brazil. The game will be played on Friday, September 6th, in week 1, the day after the first game of the season. But at the time, they didn’t announce who the Eagles would play, or where the game would be broadcast.
UPDATE:
The NFL’s Hans Schroeder announced today the game will air on NBC’s Streaming Service, Peacock.
For those who don’t have Peacock, don’t worry. In the local markets, the game will also air on NBC. If you are an Eagles fan who lives outside the local market though, you may want to think about getting a Peacock Subscription.
Unlike other streaming services, they do not offer a free trial. It currently costs $5.99 a Month. So you could subscribe for 1 month, and then immediately cancel it after the game. You won’t get a refund for the month, but it will keep you from being charged in subsequent months. Short of that, you may just need to find a friend or bar that has a Peacock subscription.
Most of you reading this won’t need to worry though. Like with all of these streaming service games, it is still broadcast on traditional TV in the local market. In this case, on NBC. Kickoff is at 8:15p.
Who Will They Play In Brazil?
As for who they will be playing, we don’t know yet. All we do know is it will be 1 of the 8 games they have a home game against. That includes the Cowboys, Giants, Commanders, Falcons, Panthers, Browns, Steelers, packers, and Jaguars.
You can eliminate the 3 divisional teams because they never do those as international games. You can also eliminate the Panthers and Jaguars because they already have International games on their schedule. The Steelers are also unlikely, because they only get to have the Battle Of Pennsylvania so often, and hosting it in Brazil would kill the point.
That leaves the Packers, Browns, and Falcons. Browns seem to be the favorite. It is an out-of-conference game, and the one least likely to have severe playoff implications. But we won’t know for sure until the NFl announces it. Roger Goodell hinted that news might be coming soon.
