Kellen Moore Is The Key To The Eagles Offense In 2024

As the Eagles begin their 1^st mandatory minicamp in years, Eagles’ fans are hopeful that the offense bounces back under new OC Kellen Moore after a terrible finish to the 2023 season. Brian Johnson is gone, and Nick Sirianni who was the architect of the offense has lost power over the offense. Kellen Moore steps into the job with a fully loaded offense.

Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Saquon Barkley is the best group of the talent in the NFL. The offensive line has 3 Pro Bowl-caliber guys & Jurgens should flourish in his natural center position. Almost every offensive coordinator in the NFL would want Moore’s job.  

There is pressure on a lot of people in 2024. I have spoken about how much pressure is on Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni. Sirianni is coaching for his job & while Hurts’ situation isn’t nearly as dire, some fans are calling his 2022 campaign a fluke. Kellen Moore is the key to saving Sirianni, and to Hurts returning to top form.  

Moore has vowed to bring more diversity to the offense. Jalen Hurts may take snaps under center on a regular basis for the 1^st time since high school. The motion that Sirianni hated will be a big part of what they do.

Defensive coordinators are very smart in the NFL. They adjusted and the Eagles’ failed to adjust back. The runs that Hurts took for 20+ yards in 2022, went for 3 in 2023. The RPO action that was dominant during the Super Bowl run, was snuffed in the backfield last season. This is an opportunity to have a clean slate with the best set of weapons in franchise history.  

Will Kellen Moore live up to the billing? He must know that a great year here means the Birds can win the Super Bowl. He also knows that he will be a head coach this time next year with a top 3 offense.

I take points off for coaching the Cowboys because I worry about former Cowboys coming here, but he did do a good job for the brief time he had Justin Herbert in LA. The hard work for them began today at the NovaCare complex. There is pressure on everyone, but Moore is the key to the whole thing.  

While there are many clubs in the world, from the night club to the rotary club, to the billy club, to the turkey club, Club Tyrone is one for sports guys who don’t get the credit they deserve. Club Tyrone is about people who are underdogs but shouldn’t be.

Some (me) have said that being named to this club is right up there with winning a Nobel Prize or Pulitizer. Many times, people don’t get the love and shine that they deserve despite excellence. The Club Tyrone system is to find a guy who isn’t being talked about that is capable of great things.

When those players perform, customers get specials at Club Tyrone. Once a guy is in, he’s in unless he does something negative/illegal off the field. I have also banned some guys from Club Tyrone in the past.

Odubel Herrera was banned after his domestic violence case.

Furkan Korkmaz was banned when he stopped getting better & asked for a trade. I also had to hold him responsible for being the 26th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft & Pascal Siakam being the 27th pick. Imagine the Sixers’ fate if Colangelo doesn’t make that mistake. (The Sixers also drafted Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot 24th overall that year).

Jalen Reagor was banned because Howie should have drafted Jefferson. He also seemed to let the pressure get to him. We can’t have that at Club Tyrone.

I am always looking for suggestions to add to the club, but they must follow a certain criteria. They must be underrated in some way, but still good in their role. Bryce Harper for example wouldn’t be eligible because he isn’t underrated. They can’t be afraid of the moment.

While the club has had many hits, there have been misses over the years. This current crop is the strongest in history.

He is the Club Tyrone OG. Who amongst us can’t remember the great defensive effort he gave against Dwyane Wade? You can’t? Well, it happened, and it was magical. He is tough player who needs to be back in the NBA.

Another OG of Club Tyrone. He became a member in 2019 before he ever played for the Eagles. What is not to like about a guy that size coming from Australia trying to play in the NFL? The fact that he has become a massive part of the Eagles’ future wasn’t expected, but we are glad it happened.

Nobody in the world is cooler than Ranger Suarez. When they ask him to start, he performs. When he has been asked to come out of the bullpen in the postseason, he performs. He plays smooth defense, and his heart rate rarely rises. He is the fastest climbing members of the roster.

The best sack celebration in the NFL is in Club Tyrone. A Super Bowl champion who has become a starting stalwart with the team. I was worried that he wouldn’t be back when the talk was about his and Reddick’s exit. Sweat will bounce back this year.  

The best Mickey in the history of the MLB. Moniak is still just 26 years old. Don’t count out the former #1 overall pick out. He hit 14 home runs in 2023. Plus, he netted you Brandon Marsh in a trade.

This is a guy who brings a lot of energy. He has been very good since he joined the Phillies. Some are calling for him to play more, but either way he is a very valuable piece. He brings joy when he plays.

Farabee is currently the only Flyer in the club. He has not yet gotten to the level that I thought he would. I still think he has 30 goals in him. Maybe 2024-2025 is the year he takes the step.

This one may have been a miss. At the time he was a 1st round pick who got to the majors quickly. Now we see that while he has a decent glove, his bat is just not up to par.  

Last season he went from a complete afterthought in the minors to a starter is center field in the postseason. He still needs to grow at the plate, but he plays plus defense. The change in mindset to be better defensively started with him.

Kody with a K is the newest member. I didn’t think he would be such a heady guy, but it is impossible not to like him. He has had a big shadow hanging over him from his dad forever and he has persevered. I don’t even mind that his name is spelled incorrectly.

Fans were skeptical when the Sixers acquired Cam Payne. Fans took a liking to Patrick Beverly even though he is very poor at basketball now. Payne came in and played well for the Sixers, while Beverly now must serve a suspension IF he is in the league in 2024. I hope they bring Payne back.
