After the Eagles lost to the Bucs in the first round, there was a real thought that Nick Sirianni could be fired. he damaged to save his job with whatever he said to Jeff Lurie in their meeting. But it came with some caveats. For one, he is no longer in charge of the offense. And that tells you how short the leash is for him. If the Eagles do not turn things around, he could be on his way out next season. And if that is the case, they may already have eyes on one replacement. Bill Belichick.

Recently Greg Bedard from the Boston Sports Journal joined our sister station, 98.5 The Sports Hub up in Boston. They asked him about some of what he was hearing down at the Senior Bowl. And one of his Patriots takeaways has a lot to do with the Eagles. Because he was hearing a lot about Bill Belichick, and how he could still be connected to the Eagles.

"Probably the most interesting thing that I have heard... is that the Eagles were very interested in Bill Belichick if things didn't work out with Nick Sirianni. And they could be at the front of the line if things go poorly for them next year... Remember before the end of the season I told you that teams have already reached out to Bill. I am now pretty convinced the Eagles were (one of them). I wouldn't be surprised, given the relationship that Howie and Bill have, that the Eagles were one of the teams to reach out to Bill"

For now, it doesn't mean too much. Nick Sirianni will be the head coach next season. And if this new system with Kellen Moore running the offense works out, he will keep his job. But the very fact reporters are suggesting they have eyes for Bill Belichick is not exactly a ringing endorsement for Sirianni.

If you are dating someone, but they keep another person in their contacts as a fallback plan, you would not exactly feel confident in your relationship. Likewise, if Jeff Lurie has Bill on speed dial, how can Nick Sirianni feel good about his place with the Eagles?

Get in on the Big Game fun with these 8 prop bets. They're a great way for everyone to get involved at your watch party.

If you don't know, prop bets, or proposition bets, are bets regarding something happening (or not happening) during a game that does not directly affect the game's outcome. They're fun bets that don't require any sports expertise. And they have nothing to do with points, spreads, or any other confusing terms.

There are many ways to bet on the Kansas City vs. San Fran. The most-watched television event of the year in the United States makes for several entertainment props. Even if you're only watching for the halftime show or the commercials, you can bet.

These can be bet on officially, or, you can create a prop pool for you and the people at your watch party. Everyone puts in some money and answers questions, and whoever has the most right wins!

When you have no stakes in the game, (AKA, your team isn't in it) have fun with these. It puts you "in the action" so to speak, without pressure. You don't need a high football IQ to put some money on these.

Here are 8 fun prop bets for the Big Game:

Coin Toss

Super Bowl LIII - New England Patriots v Los Angeles Rams

Simplest bet first. Heads or tails on the coin toss. It's a 50/50 shot you get this right. There is no way for the coin to land on its side, so choose wisely! Two choices, too simple.

National Anthem Length

CMA Fest 2023 - Day 2

Bet on the over-under on the length of the National Anthem. Reba McEntire is set to kick off the game with her rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." An over-under bet is a wager in which a number for a statistic in a given game is set, and bettors wager that the actual number in the game will be either higher or lower than that number.

The current over-under is either over 1 minute and 26 seconds, or under 1 minute and 26 seconds.

Taylor Swift Shots

AFC Championship - Kansas City Chiefs v Baltimore Ravens

Bet on how many times they show Taylor Swift cheering on Travis Kelce. Experts and Swifties have mapped out how she can be there, despite having a show in JAPAN the night before. With time differences and such, she can be there. And she probably will be. You can bet on the specific number of camera shots, or the over-under.

The Gatorade Dump

Military Bowl presented by GoBowling.com - Virginia Tech v Tulane

I find this one to be the most fun. What color Gatorade will be dumped on the winning team's coach? It's not always the color you'd expect. You'd think a red team would use red Gatorade, but what if their bench prefers the taste of yellow or blue?

Usher's Halftime Performance

When it comes to the halftime show, there are a couple of props. What will be the first song Usher performs? And also, will there be any special guests? Length of the show is pretty set-in-stone, so that's not something to bet on.

A Safety? Interception? Fumble?

AFC Championship - Kansas City Chiefs v Baltimore Ravens

This is a whole bunch wrapped into one. Will there be a fumble? Who will fumble first? Will there be an interception? Who will throw the first interception? Will there be a safety? All of these are pretty technical football-related things, but they add drama in any game, so they're fun to bet on.

First Commercial

FILE PHOTO Britney Spears Commercial

This one is very straightforward. What will the first commercial be? It's an open-ended question, so really think hard about your answer! Any number of brands could have bought that coveted first spot.

Challenge Flags

Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens

You can bet on one of a few things here. Will there be a challenge flag thrown? Who will throw the first challenge flag? Will the first challenge be successful? All of which work.
