Who The Fanatic Hosts Want To Be The Eagles Next Offensive Coordinator
After yesterday’s Eagles press conference, we know the plan for the Eagles, sort of. Nick Sirianni will stay on as head coach. What is his job? Head Coach. Ask him what he will actually do on the team, and you won’t get much more than that. But it seems like he will loosen his grips on the offense, at least a bit, and take more of an overarching role on the team. he even said he will sit in on more defensive meetings. Whoever the new offensive coordinator will be, they will have a larger role than Brian Johnson had last year.
"The new (offensive) coordinator will be heavily involved. He is bringing in a scheme for us to be able to function in."- Nick Sirianni
But who will that be? It seems like the Eagles already have a Defensive coordinator. Vic Fangio is reportedly on his way to Philly to accept the role. But the Offensive Coordinator job is more up in the air. They have interviewed a few people already, including former head coach Kliff Kingsbury. But it could take longer than a few days to learn who they are going to hire.
The bigger question is, who should they hire? A young up-and-coming candidate who could bring fresh ideas? Someone who has been a proven offensive coordinator in the past? Maybe someone who has been a head coach before? There are a lot of candidates up there, and getting the hire right is likely the key to the Eagles being able to bounce back next season.
You Can Read More About Some of the Candidates Below:
We asked every host at the Fanatic to see who they would like to see the eagles hire. Some wanted a proven coordinator like Eric Bieniemy. Others wanted a former head coach like Kliff Kingsbury. Others just wanted anyone who might have a clue.
Here Is Who the Fanatic Hosts Want to See as the Eagles Next Offensive Coordinator:
John Kincade- Someone Young And Dynamic
Klint Kubiak- 49ers Passing Game Coordinator
“I’ll tell you what I want in an offensive coordinator now that I know Vic Fangio is coming in. We already have the older sage veteran who has been head coach. I want young, I want dynamic, and I want an aggressive, aggressive, passing attack.”
Bob Cooney- Eric Bieniemy
“There is only one name I want running the Eagles offense next year. Eric Bieniemy. Snatch him from Washington. They get a new head coach, he says I don’t want to be there anymore. boom. You come to Philadelphia Mr. Bieniemy, and you teach Jalen hurts everything you taught Patrick mahomes at Kansas City. You get him to play at a level of QB we haven’t seen before. eric Bieniemy, number 1.”
Pat Egan- Nick Sirianni's Brother
“I know Bob wants Eric Bieniemy. He is a fine choice. But I am going to think outside the box, unlike Bob. I want Nick Sirianni’s brother. He doesn’t shut up about how great his brother is. His brother is this world famous highschool coach. So bring the brother here. Maybe the brother has a freaking clue.”
Andrew- Someone from the 49ers
“Call the 49ers and ask who’s available.”
Connor Thomas- Kliff Kingsbury
“I want a guy with head coaching experience because frankly, I don’t believe the Eagles have a true head coach right now. I’m going with Kliff Kingsbury.”
Ricky Bottalico- Eric Bieniemy
“I think they need a name who has been around the league for a long time. Eric Sleeping With The Bieniemy. That is who I want in here. He did a great job when he was in Kansas City with Andy Reid. He can jump right back on that bandwagon here in Philadelphia with Jalen Hurts.”
"It is just about putting the players in the best position to succeed. Whoever the new coordinator is, there will be fresh ideas they bring... I'm excited about that. the new ideas meshing with some of the old ideas.... To me we got a little stale on offense."- Nick Sirianni
“Who do I want the Eagles to hire as offensive coordinator? My first thought is I don’t know. I think if they get Vic Fangio in, have a nice veteran presence, maybe go with a younger OC.”
Tyrone Johnson- Kellen Moore
“I’ve been going back and forth on this. I think I’m going to go with Kellen Moore right now because I think he is a smart guy with quarterbacks. But the Eagles… I don’t know.”
Ray Dunne- Eric Bieniemy
“Ill take Eric Bieniemy, but really anyone who is not Kliff Kingsbury”
Tom Alvord- Eric Bieniemy
“I don’t think there is a slam dunk option out there for Offensive Coordinator. For work purposes I would say Chip Kelly because that would be awesome. The Eagles fan in me says Eric Bieniemy. There are a lot of names out, don’t love any of them. But I like Bienemy”
