Chris Simms Was Finally Right About Something

Buccaneers quarterback Chris Simms looks dejected after losing the ball to the 49ers late in the fourth quarter as the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 15 to 10 at Monster Park, San Francisco, California, October 30, 2005.
(Photo by Robert B. Stanton/NFLPhotoLibrary)Chris Simms, best known for being Phil Simms' son, has quite the history with the Eagles. All of last season he was a Jalen Hurts hater. And instead of acting like a normal person when Hurts proved him wrong, he doubled down and continued to rip Hurts. Even stooping so low as to say Daniel Jones is better. That continued into this year when he finally crossed the line and said he wanted to see defenses try to injure Jalen Hurts when the Eagles run the Tush Push. Simms has pretty much set new records for being wrong. But recently something very rare happened. Chris Simms was actually right about something.
I know, it is hard to believe. But Simms finally admitted he was wrong, and said the Tush Push should not be banned after being such a big proponent of banning it in the past. This is what Chris Simms said on Pro Football Talk the day after the Eagles used The Tush Push to score the game-winning TD against the Chiefs.
“I’ve changed my thoughts on this play a little bit. I’ve seen enough to know you can stop this. You can’t make it illegal because one team’s awesome at it, and the rest of football is not. There was a time I worried that it wa s a player safety thing... But not everyone can do this, it would be cheap if they took it out of the game.. Because it would only be because the Eagles are too good at it. Screw that. This is the NFL. Big boy football. Either you do it, or draft people who can stop it. But you can’t change a rule because one team keeps kicking the sh*t out of everyone doing it, when the rest of the league has shown they can stop other teams from doing it.”
You know what they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day. And Chris Simms, for the first time maybe in his entire life, is right about something. You can't just ban something because one team is great at it. The play isn't unfair, if it was every team would be able to run it. But we see every single week other teams try, and fail. The Eagles run it so well, because it is a skill play, and they are more skilled.
He is still wrong about 99.99% of the things he says. But finally, we found some common ground with a guy we have pretty much only had reasons to dislike to this point. Now if only he would admit he was wrong about Jalen Hurt's overall

Philadelphia Eagles Projected 2023 Week 12 Starters
The Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 12 of the 2023 NFL season with the best record in the NFL at 9-1, and they will likely use the same starters in their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills. They are currently in the driver’s seat to earn the top seed in the NFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Eagles Sneak Past Chiefs
The Super Bowl LVII rematch on Monday Night Football certainly wasn't the cleanest game. The Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 21-17 in downright bizarre fashion.
Jalen Hurts faced pressure from Chris Jones and the Kansas City defense consistently throughout the game. He found a way to lead the Eagles down the field for two touchdown drives in the second half. The Philadelphia defense held Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs scoreless on six second half possessions.
Nick Sirianni has improved to 32-12 as a head coach in NFL regular-season games. The Eagles are 23-2 in games started by Jalen Hurts since the beginning of the 2022 season.
They can escape potential clunkers in an NFL era that all of a sudden seems defined by trap games.
Projected Philadelphia Eagles Week 12 Starters
The Eagles will return to Lincoln Financial Field in Week 12 to face Josh Allen and the 6-5 Bills. The matchup continues a stretch of legitimate opponents the Eagles will face over the next month.
Their lineup in Week 12 should look similar to the one they used in Kansas City. Dallas Goedert and Nakobe Dean will remain out with injuries. Jack Stoll started at tight end in Week 11. He played 55% of the snaps while Grant Calcaterra and Albert Okwuegbunam both rotated in backup roles.
Nicholas Morrow played an elevated role next to Zach Cunningham with Dean out of the lineup.
Julio Jones and Olamide Zaccheaus both saw some significant playing time at Arrowhead Stadium. While DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown will be the obvious focus of the wide receiver room, the coaching staff has trust in their top four wide receivers while Quez Watkins remains on the sidelines.
