Jason Kelce And Friends Make Another ‘Philly Special Christmas’
Jason Kelce and his Philadelphia Eagles are at it again – Christmas Style. A Philly Special Christmas Special will be exactly that. Special. You might remember last year’s A Philly Special Christmas album which raised about 1.25 million dollars for local charities. Well, the guys are at it again. Jason Kelce and his famous football friends:
Lane Johnson
Jordan Mailata
Connor Barwin
They are all back in the recording studio prepping for the holidays with a brand new album. And this one promises to be twice as “special.”
Besides vocals from Kelce, Johnson, and Mailata, according to New Jersey Stage the album will also include Patti Labelle, Amos Lee, The Hooters’ Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, DMHotep (Sun Ra Arkestra), Kevin Hanson (The Fractals, Huffamoose), Luke Carlos O’Reilly, Waxahatchee, members of The War on Drugs, Dr. Dog, Mewithoutyou, and The Silver Ages Choir and more!
Connor Barwin is the executive producer of the album. Barwin, who used to be an outside linebacker, now holds the position of Director of Player Development for the Philadelphia Eagles. He said:
It’s so much fun and an honor to be working with this incredible group of people; watching old friends and new friends all come together to make something really special.
Charlie Hall from War on Drugs said he never expected there wouldn’t be a follow-up album. Hall said, in addition to holiday classics, the album includes an extra special gift from Eagles Center Jason Kelce. He actually wrote an original song that he performs!
According to the Philly Voice, you can preorder vinyl copies of the album online on Nov. 3. A pressing on red vinyl will cost $75. A double album on gold vinyl, which includes both LPs, is priced at $125. The albums will ship after Thanksgiving.
