Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- Cant Stop Thinking About Game 5
Anthony woke up this morning with nothing except game 5 on his mind, and he talked about it in his Opening Diatribe this morning:
“Game 5, We are counting down. Oh my! 9 and a half hours to go, until this game 5. Do you want to talk about nervous? Talk about angst? I am trying to remember a game like this.
I watched Heat-Knicks. And I mean, come on. Jimmy is ridiculous, I will never put anything past him. But you have to win. You look at those two teams? And then I look at the other side of the bracket. I am seeing a highway. You look at what could be the Finals. The Lakers are up 3-1. Phoenix is back in that series with Denver. You can beat all of these teams. The Sixers and Celtics are the two best teams. It will come down to tonight.
A buddy of mine said to me that Embiid’s legacy is almost on the line. It is important that they win. It’s important for Joel that they win. He has to play well. And I thought he played a great weekend. He was fantastic Friday. Harden stole the show on Sunday, be he made a great pass to Harden.
They have to win. I keep bargaining with my maker. We will be in Boston tonight. I know it will be tough to win up there. But they did it. They did it in game 1. 1… You snatched momentum back. Now it is on your side. Boston could have closed the series. They didn’t. So maybe momentum is upon us.
I am freaking nervous. I am a ball of nerves.”
