Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- The Sixers Stole Game 1
Anthony talked about how the Sixers stole game 1 in his Opening Diatribe this morning…
“The Beard! 45 last night. Oh my, The Sixers stole it. They absolutely stole game 1. Take that Boston. That’s Game 1. And they are coming for game 2! Play it!
( Cue Sixers song, and highlight reel of Sixers win)
There it is. Right in Horford’s face. Man, what a game last night. Incredible. It was a wild game. And it all starts with Boston attacking the rim with ease. Im thinking where is Joel, I just need my rim protector. And yet, ss well as Boston played, they couldn’t shake the Sixers in that first half. They should have been up 20.
Every time it looked like Boston would get a little margin, the Sixers would make a little run to get back into it. The game could have gotten out of hand early. Instead, they were able to hang around long enough. That was Houston James Harden…
Everybody played their roles. Tobias did his thing. Maxey, who has struggled against Boston, you can see his confidence start to grow. In this series, he is going to go for 35 in one of these games. Because he was close to igniting. He had that big drive at the end. Let’s not forget Doc Rivers. He coached a hell of a game. He got the mismatches he wanted. Boston could not keep up with his screens. Paul Reed played really well in the second half. First half he looked a little out of sorts. Second half he played much better defensively, and he hit those 4 big FTs.
They just did enough man. What a game. You hang around like that? Boston thought they were going to blow them out. But every time Boston thought they would get a margin, the Sixers came back.”
