Philadelphia Flyers’ Interim GM Danny Briere And Head Coach John Tortorella Talk Flyers Rebuild
This past Sunday from 11am-3pm, the Wells Fargo Center was overtaken by fans in orange and black as the Flyers hosted the 44th edition of their Flyers Charities Carnival. It was an awesome event from start to finish, with numerous worthy charities benefitting from the festivities and droves of fans showing up to meet their favorite Flyers players, coaches, and personalities. 97.5 The Fanatic had an opportunity to broadcast from the event, and even had the chance to sit down with a couple interesting guests for some interviews on the state of the team and the organization.
First, Connor Thomas and Tom Alvord were joined by Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella:

Coach Tortorella talked at length about his foundation Hockey And Hounds, which benefits shelter dogs in the Greater Philadelphia Area and raises awareness about the conditions in those shelters and opportunities for adoption. He also discussed what he is looking for from the team in the Flyers’ last couple games of the season, and his offseason goals for the roster based on the players’ performances this year.
Later on in the afternoon, Flyers legend and new interim GM Danny Briere checked in with the guys for some interesting commentary on his first couple of weeks on the job and some goals for the organization:
Briere touched on the biggest obstacle he faces as he works through taking over GM duties, what it would mean to him to bring winning hockey back to this city, how he views the Flyers’ “rebuild”, and what having a coach like John Tortorella can mean for a franchise trying to get back to their winning ways.
