Ezekiel Elliott Expresses Interest in Playing with the Eagles
Of all the current Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott may be the most hated by Eagles fans. Whether it is his crop tops, his behavior off the field, or let’s face it, his overall success, he is not a popular man in Philly. But Eagles fans may soon have to swallow their hate because the rumor is there is a chance he could land in Philly. Adam Schefter reported that Zeke has narrowed his options down to 3 teams in free agency. And one of them is the Eagles.

The Cowboys cut Elliott this off-season. Ending his 7-season long career in Dallas. And for what it is worth, the 27-year-old RB did have 876 yards last season, with 12 TDS. But he also averaged just 3.8 yards per carry. At this point in his career, he is not an every down back. There is a reason the Cowboys chose Tony Pollard over him. But as a goal line or short yardage back, he still does have something to offer.
The history of bringing in former Cowboys to Philly is not a bright one though. Past examples include Demarco Murray, Orlando Scandrick, Felix Jones, and Miles Austin. All of them being disastrous signings for the Eagles. They also already have Kenny Gainwell, Rashaad Penny, and Boston Scott under contract. That said, they do not have significant money tied into any of them. Still, RB isn’t the most pressing of needs. Especially with how good the Eagles’ O-Line is. With limited space, there may be better places to spend that cap space.
It is also important to note there is not yet any indication the Eagles are interested in him. We only know that he is interested in them. And he may have only named the eagles to spite his former team. Though one current Eagles player at least has expressed interest in playing with Elliott.
