The Anthony Gargano Show – Weekdays 10am – 2pm

Weekdays 10am-2pm

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - JANUARY 29: Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles celebrates after defeating the San Francisco 49ers to win in the NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field on January 29, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 31 to 7.

The Eagles are back in the Super Bowl. An incredible season continues after they beat the 49ers 31-7 on Sunday. And to break down this run to the Super Bowl, their chances to win it, and more, Anthony Gargano talked to Jeff McLane from the Philly Inquirer. How did they get here? Jeff McLane talks about the Eagles’ offseason moves that go them to this point, a few moves they didn’t make, and the line swinging the Eagles way after it originally favored the Chiefs. Here is what Jeff McLane had to say.

On The Betting Line Swinging the Eagles Way

“I thought the Chiefs would be favored. But it went the other way. I guess the Mahomes mobility factor, the fact that he is not going to be 100%. I don’t think Hurts is 100% either. So that kind of evens out. And the Eagles have a stronger defense than the Chiefs. They are a little stronger on both lines. The Chiefs have a much stronger O-line than they did two years ago. And the strength of their defense is their D Line with Chris Jones and Frank Clark. But I don’t think their defense is as strong talent-wise as the Eagles… It’s not all about the QBS. But Mahomes has won a Super Bowl. he has been there down that. I would give them the edge there. Not taking anything away from Jalen, but Mahomes may end up the best Qb of all time.

To me, it is probably a toss-up… The Eagles have great corners, and Mahomes can only extend plays for so long. He is not 100% on that ankle. They will get to him. Haason Reddick is playing as well as any edge rusher in the league right now. He outplayed Nick Bosa on Sunday. So I think that is probably what the bettors are looking at it…”
