PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - JANUARY 29: Miles Sanders #26 of the Philadelphia Eagles scores a 13 yard touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers during the second quarter in the NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field on January 29, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Grease the poles! Our Philadelphia Eagles are back in the Super Bowl. They faced off against the best defense in the league, and they did not blink. By the second half, it was not even close. They took a 21-7 lead into halftime and turned it into a 31-7 win. And now in two weeks time, they will be taking the field in Arizona to try to bring this city its second Lombardi trophy in franchise history.

It was close for most of the first half. The Eagles’ offense went right down the field to make it 7-0. But then the 49ers D buckled down and gave up just 11 yards on the next 3 drives. The 49ers’ offense could never get it going though. Outside one Christain Mccaffery TD where he had to break 4 tackles, the 49ers’ offense was shut down. They could not contain Haason Reddick. He had two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery by halftime.

The Eagles got a TD late in the half. It looked like they would go into the locker room up 14-7. But a Josh Johnson fumble gave the Eagles one more chance to score before halftime, and they took it. And after that, the 49ers never got back into it. The Eagles did catch several breaks. Brock Purdy went out early with an elbow injury. Josh Johnson came in for him but went out with a concussion. So Purdy had to come back in, but he literally could not throw the ball. Meaning the 49ers had to try and come back from down 21 points, with a quarter left to play, with only runs. That was never going to happen.

But the Eagles putting up 4 rushing touchdowns against the best rush defense in the league had nothing to do with Purdy being hurt. That was just the Eagles’ run game being impossible to stop. So much credit has to go to this O Line. They went up against what the national media dubbed the best front 7 in the league, and they didn’t blink. They fought for every yard they got. And they came out on top. this team can run on anybody.

This team has been the best team in Football all season. They proved it in the regular season, they proved it last week, and they proved it again vs the 49ers. The 49ers are a great team. But the Eagles are better. And now they will get one more chance to prove they are the best team two weeks from now in the Super Bowl. Enjoy it Philly fans. Something special is happening.
