Zach Berman Discusses Eagles-Giants With Anthony Gargano
We are closing in on the kickoff for the Eagles-Giants game. Tomorrow night at 8:15, the Eagles’ playoff run begins. And to get some last-minute insight on that Eagles-Giants game, Anthony Gargano spoke to Zach Berman from The Athletic. How healthy is Jalen Hurts? What are his thoughts on the matchup in this Eagles-Giants game? Here is what Zach Berman had to say.
On the Health of Jalen Hurts
“It seems obvious to say he is two weeks healthier than the last time he played, but it is relevant to say too. I wouldn’t be worried about the shoulder. Obviously, there is a pain threshold Jalen will need to have. But I think you are going to see Jalen Hurts play like Jalen Hurts. I don’t think there will be the same restrictions you saw in the last game. He is more than a month past the injury now. The health is an excuse in that he is dealing with something. But I don’t think he is dealing with something that is going to prohibit him or the Eagles from playing the way they want.”
On the Eagles’ Defensive Gameplan
“I think this is one of those games where you know you have the advantage at corner. This is why you have two All-Pro caliber corners. You can trust your guys in man coverage. The Giants’ recipe will be to try and make this an ugly game. A 4th quarter game. So the Eagles can’t allow the Giants to sustain drives. They cant allow those easy completions. And can’t allow Daniel Jones to run the ball for 6 yards on 3rd and 4. That is going to be such a critical component of this game. This is one of those games where Gannon needs to say we have Darius Slay and James Bradberry, lets’s trust Darius Slay and James Bradberry.”
