Herm Edwards Joins Anthony to Discuss Eagles-Giants
Eagles legend and former NFL Head Coach Herm Edwards joined The Anthony Gargano Show earlier today to discuss the Eagles-Giants game. What does he think of Jalen Hurts? How does he think Saturday’s game will go? What are his thoughts on the other games in the Divisional round? Herm Edwards discussed all that and more. Here is some of what he had to say.
On The Emergence of Jalen Hurts
“He had a special season. If he doesn’t get hurt, he is in the running to be MVP. The running skills, we knew that was there. But passing the ball. Not just down the field, but his accuracy, and having command of the football. It helps to have Brown. They have a nice receiving core. But I just think it is a well-scripted offense for his skillset… He is a nightmare for defenses. Because he is the dual QB. College Football all of a sudden is in the NFL.”
On How the Giants’ Offense Will Attack the Eagles
“You shouldn’t be able to (run against the Eagles). I think what they will do is try to exploit the inside of their defense, as far as throwing the football. They are going to attack the safeties. The corners are legit, the corners can play well. But it’s the safeties. They will try to get them on some matchups they think they can take advantage of. And every defense has what they have. When you look at Philly, that is where they can be a little vulnerable.”
On How He Think The Game Will Go
“The Eagles have the better team, they have beaten this team twice. They just can’t go to sleep and think it’s going to be a layup. Because it is not. It is a divisional game and division games are always funny. You are not going to win the game in the first quarter. It might get into the 4th quarter before you put them away. But you have to keep running your offense. Dont give them extra possessions… They are going to try to run the ball and slow the game down… They want to get into 3rd and 3s. So they can manage the game. They want this to be a slow slugfest. Because if Philly gets out to a lead, it is over.”
