Anthony’s Opening Diatribe- The Hold Football Has On Us
In his Opening Diatribe this morning, Anthony Gargano discussed the hold football has on him…
“We get ready to head into to the NFL Playoffs. The Super Wildcard weekend. And today is an ode to the NFL Playoffs. The NFL playoffs are fantastic. they really are. But I hate this time of the year. it is despicable. I hate everything about it. Because each week it whittles down the number of Football games that we see. This is a great weekend. But this is how sick and twisted I am. And I think I need help. Because I look at it and I go, it’s going to be great because we get two games on Saturday, three games on Sunday, and one game on Monday. But then boom. Then it is the divisional road, which will be good, but it’s only 4 games. Then it is the conference championship games. And then it is singular, the Super Bowl. I wanted to take part of the show and figure out what is the hold that football has on us. Why do I feel this way?
Listen I love sports. Obviously Basketball. We always talk basketball. Hockey, I love the Flyers they win again last night. That was a good win over Washington. And Washington makes a furious comeback, makes it 4-3, and they hold them off… Baseball we are nuts because we are back. The baseball renaissance is back here… And I have even been watching a ton of soccer… But I don’t know what it is. What is the hold that Football has on us? Another reason I am depressed is because college football is over. And this is the problem, with Football we have to wait so long before it comes back…”
