Isnt it great? 12-1. In this magical Eagles season ride. I’m curious as to where you are at with the success of this team. This year has been such a wild year. The MVP is Jalen, right? The whole thing starts and ends with Jalen Hurts becoming not just a quality starter, but a very good one. Just taking it to the next level, honing his skills, and becoming a legitimate Qb. Not just an effective runner, but now a thrower too. Obviously, if you are going to go MVPs, he’s there. Because he was the biggest question mark coming in. But this team even is exceeding expectations everywhere else.
So what is the reason? Why are they 12-1? I had somebody tell me yesterday, this whole thing is all about the offensive and defensive lines. I agree that the line play has been ridiculous. This is Howie’s belief system. Howie’s belief is that you always fortify the front. Build an O-Line and a D-Line. And he has done that. In every draft, he is adding to the line, on both sides of the ball. Is that the cheat code to Football?
You could have great QB play, and it will get you so far. Like Joe Burrow last year was so ridiculously good, that he overcame their lack of O-Line play. Which is a rarity. They were able to get to the Superbowl. But ultimately they couldn’t win it because the line finally gave in. The Chiefs, when they lost all their guys on the line, all of a sudden it was Mahomes is having a down year. They figured out how to play Mahomes. No they didn’t! They were able to get pressure on him because their o line was breaking down.
It is why the Buccaneers are done, and why the Rams died early. It always goes back to the front. And that is a true tenet of Football. Therefore, Howie Roseman would be the key to this thing, other than Hurts.
