Sitting on The Dock Of The Bay Released
On this day in 1967, Otis Reading released Sitting on the Dock of The Bay. Even all these years later, it is still one of the best songs out there. And the remarkable thing was Otis was just 26 when it was released, but his voice already had the maturity of a seasoned performer. And Andrew played a bit from that iconic song in the Audio Vault Today.
Bo Jackson Becomes the 51st Heisman Winner
On this day in 1985, Bo Jackson won the Heisman. Bo is still one of the most athletic players of all time, dabbling in both Baseball and Football. he was the 51st winner of the Heisman trophy. And Andrew played a few examples of Bo Jackson’s athletic prowess in Audio Vault today, including one ultra-aggressive stiff arm.
Happy Birther Peter Laviolette
Today former Flyers coach Peter Laviolette celebrates his Birthday. He coached the Flyers to the Stanley Cup in 2010. And since then, and many coaches later, things have never gotten better than they were under him. And to honor the former Flyer’s coach, who many wishes was still here, Andrew played a legendary rant from him where he told his players he needed them to “Rip their heart out of their chest,” or that they would lose ice time.
Happy Birthday Terrell Owens
And today is also Terrell Owen’s birthday. The hall-of-fame WR had one great year with the Eagles before things blew up. And it felt proper for Andrew to share some great from his time here. Like him scoring a TD on the first play of the game in his Eagle’s debut. And some of the bad, like him talking to the media from his front yard during his contract dispute.
